Re: COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Forty-Three of Sales
I just created my own YouTube channel doing product videos with future ones planned mostly focussed on MS365. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OotckdOtEg ... and I am working Linkedin a lot more in different ways. Most of the people I know say they have never gotten a lead from Linkedin. They think of this site as a static business card talking about who they are and not what they can do for the customer. They never post to Linkedin. Like most things, Linkedin requires almost daily work to...

SSG that's an awesome video! You can send links to clients, and direct them to your channel. It's a virtual demo that keeps on giving. Kudos I have some of the same issues with getting appointments through Linkedin, however I know of several peeps that use Linkedin as their only source for prospecting and they are doing well. I will keep working it since I have a Navigator account now

Re: PPDM from Ricoh, Questions
Hey all. I am one of the support reps from Ricoh for PPDM. The product is FABULOUS. The roll out has just started in the field, really, and we are learning the product. The only real problem we have been having is with the server. Those have been IIS issues, not PPDM issues. Also, watch for firewall conflicts. The product allows for BATES stamps, scan to almost anything, and 99% OCR. Once it is up, it appears highly stable. If it crashes, removal can be tricky, but we have a fix for that.

Re: JOINT STATEMENT BY SHARP ELECTRONICS CORPORATION AND EDWARD MCLAUGHLIN
These are all very interesting comments. Not sure if anyone has seen the videos and new interface on the color systems. Watch those videos on youtube and see yes that is a cool interface but is it really practical? From talking with others this is a very confusing non-friendly user interface compared to the previous MX color series. I think this is going to hurt this color series in the long run. The real challenge comes when there are MX units in an account then add this Aries series. Or...

Re: A Day That Will Never Be Forgotten
Out here in Wisconsin, I was getting ready for work and listening to the radio, as I usually did then. The deejay interrupted the song that was playing, and I will always remember the stunned tone in his voice and his unusual words. He said, "If you are not watching TV, you need to turn it on NOW." What kind of weird thing is that for a radio deejay to say?! So, I did what he said and that's how I found out about the planes hitting the towers. In the time it took me to drive to work, the...

Above a base salary. I am paid as follows: A flat % of the total revenue based on the Gross Profit. The higher the GP the flat % is increased. Once GP is higher that 15% I am paid a % of the GP in addition to the previously mentioned Flat % of Revenue. this is on hardware revenue only not aftermarket. Which is the reason that aftermarket is spiraling downward. Comp us on aftermarket and watch click rate go back up.

Just went through on the launch materials for the Canon 1700 series.....this thing will rock. The big A4 players better watch out because Canon will get this market share with the versatility and TCO of these units. They will have many knock out punches for those current A4 units out there.

Re: Prisim Doc record
We have used DocRecord internally at our dealership for the last two years. I like it; I find it pretty easy to administer and our end users think it's intuitive and friendly. I can't speak to integration with your specific platform. But, for automation it's just a matter of setting up a process with a watch folder through DocRecord's Automation Server tool, and programming a one-touch button on your MFP that scans into the watch folder. PS - we're a Konica Minolta dealer. :-)

Re: Got A Situation! What would ou do?
Joe.....sounds like Sharp1 is bias on the 453. I agree with sharp1 that the 453 is a nice unit. But doesn't any 45ppm unit run 5000-20,000/mo? That is the norm for that segment. I should know I worked for Sharp and sold these exact systems. But I have to say if you have an customer that is already not happy then you try to sell them a system with all those extra bells and whistles when they don't want or need then....well you are adding fuel to the fire. While everyone is watching the arab spring, Iraq, Afganistan, the europe debt crisis, CHINA is the sleeper that is on it's way to become a military and econmoic powerhouse. Re: Samsung Says Offer for Sharp’s Photocopier Unit Rejected
One of the interesting sides to this would be what would happen to Sharp's direct operations under a Samsung take over of the copier operation. Samsung in Canada has been extremely adamant that they do not do direct sales in any of their operations, consumer or BtoB. Interesting to watch these global operations shift.

Re: Samsung Says Offer for Sharp’s Photocopier Unit Rejected
Samsung has been looking for a way into the North american market going on 5 years now. they own 90% of the MFP/Printer market in Korea (Look it up). If Samsung gets the business from Sharp they will have a small but established infrastructure that will give them a foothold into North America. With all the doom and gloom out reports from the analysts these days its good to hear something new and exciting.

Re: Data Destruction
I'm a security guy. As soon as this client mentioned an end-of-lease security concern my first thought was to shred the drive. I've seen quite a selection of software on the market with claims of getting rid of the data for good but upon further investigation it's not 100% reliable. We're only as reliable as the solutions we offer. The obstacle here is that, apparently, leasing companies don't care to have hardware returned to them with the HDs in 1000 pieces. Re: Printing from Word Perfect
From: Graham Sent: 9/19/2002 8:45 AM You'll notice with that method that when they are printing multiple copies, if you watch the printer spool, WP will send the entire document for each copy. IE: if you have a 3 page document that you are printing 50 times, it will send 150 pages to the printer. Printing out of word, it sends 3 pages to the printer and doesn't tie up your PC or hurt your network traffic.

We have a half dozen or so in the field, no complaints here, I did watch a customer send a print job of a 100 page booklet and there was no pause. Is this just happening with copies? If so, it could be a memory issue. The machine that I spoke about had the memory upgrade installed before we put it in the field. That may be the issue. Let me know what you come up with.

I agree with you on some points that his goals are admirable in wanting to cut wasteful spending. That's about it. In the future if he is elected, and he cuts the nuclear arsenal, cuts defense spending, brings all of our troops back to the US from around the world (which numbers around 500,000), says that we no longer will protect our allies (which means that US bases around the world will have to be closed). Re: 911 Remembered
I heard the news on the radio as I was driving to the airport. I remember going down to the Southwest gate and seeing everybody standing around the televisions as we watch the second plane crashing of the towers. As I left the airport, planes were one after the other landing in lining up on the runway. I'll never forget how surreal that moment was. Today as I was checking in at the American Airlines counter at the Des Moines airport, everyone paused to observe a moment of silence.
