Re: Five Reasons Why I'm Stoked About the New Ricoh SP8400DN Printer
Had a conference call with Epson Monday afternoon. They said the ended up with a 1 year warranty on the print heads but you can purchase an extended warranty for something like $250/yr.? I didn't write that down because the only thing that matters to me is what gets passed on to the customer and manufacturers warranties are seldom passed on. Epson Ink Process advantages: No heat so no heat related issues...no fuser, no cooling fan, no warm-up. Consumes 50% less power No drum or developer so...

Re: Five Reasons Why I'm Stoked About the New Ricoh SP8400DN Printer
I guess he was just referring to the Epson C869R (25 ppm). We kept asking questions about the 100 ppm unit and I lost track which unit this information applied to. Sorry for the confusion. We have a launch on the 11th and he promised more info on the 100 ppm at that time.

Re: High Volume Updates
RICOH PRO 907/1107/1357 PRODUCTION PRINTER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q. Where do the new Pro Series Production Printers fit in the Ricoh high volume monochrome printer product line? A. The new Pro Series Production Printers are successors to the highly successful Digital Document Publisher models, the DDP70e and the DDP92. Those models were initially brought into the Ricoh product family through the acquisition of Hitachi. Technically, the 70-ppm Digital Document Publisher 70e is being...

Re: Cloud Poll
Canon's Cloud Portal - MEAP App allows you to connect a Canon ImageRUNNER-Advance to either GoogleDocs or MS Sharepoint Online. The MEAP App is free from Canon, and GoogleDocs will give you a free 1Gig of storage when you open a gmail account. The last time I checked a Terabyte of storage was ~ $250/year, which is pretty darn cheap. This allows you to Scan directly to GoogleDocs and Print Directly from GoogleDocs. You can even print MS Word, Excel, & Powerpoint docs that are stored on...

Re: Nuance eCopy - Rumor has it
Unfortunately NSI is not available on Canon's in the USA. They do work with Canon's in Europe, so they CAN work with Canon's but someone at Canon USA has made a "marketing decision" NOT to allow them access to the USA market. I do hate when the MFD manufacturer tries to over regulate the solutions that they want to work with their smart MFDs. With the release of UniFLOW's Advance Scanning module we feel that it will fill a lot of the space. I will say that we still need eCopy SSOP and their...

Montecore, eCopy SSOP is still my go to solution when I need a specific connector. They have over 250 connectors for their SSOP product. If eCopy has a connector that would be your best bet. While Nuance support is not great you could buy this through Cranel Imaging to get access to their help desk and support. Hope this helps! Vince

Re: SP431DN will it..
So, I we installed the SP431DN with four paper trays the other day. I was there on Friday to set up the paper trays, configure the printer setting and test the system. We did a run of 2,500 envelopes with an MS word merge for addressing. We finished the job in 75 minutes with no wrinkles, we did have several misfeeds, however I'm blaming that on me not knowing how many envelopes to put in each tray. We not able to fit and entire box pf 500 however we were able to fit about 250-300 at a time.

Re: Has everyone seen what GE Capital is doing?
I have upgraded 7 GE leases in the last 6 months and sent the machines back because the upgrade and buyout were too high, so the customer opted to send back the equipment. Also had GE call and try to charge the customer an additional $250 on a Toshiba system we sent back for the customer because one tray would not feed paper 3 weeks after their return warehouse received the machine. It wasn't annotated on the delivery receipt from the carrier. But when we offered to send a replacement part...

Mike, By printing one set and then copying, the key operator would have to program the job each time with each of the 12 tabs, duplexing vs. simplex, etc. and because these booklets are approx. 250 pages, I am afraid this option would be rather time consuming.

Think of the 4101 as a 1013F that is 25 ppm and had color scanning. What I mean is the 1st copy time is a SLOW 12 seconds!!!The platen is 8.5x11 only, 30 sheet ADF (not ARDF), it only ways 70lbs. where the 2022 is 188lbs. w/o the ARDF. It appears to not have any speed or quick dials, no finishing...I don't even think it has zoom. Maximum paper capacity is only 1600 sheets (600 standard). The dispay is an LCD with navigation buttons like our Aficio 200/250 used to be. It does have color...

That is a HUGE assumption. I don't completely get your math. It seems like you're saying a 1500 volume would yield a big profit. If you look at the table below, assuming that color costs 5 cents to make and the customer pays 9.5 cents for the overages, you only make $20 a unit in profit at 1500 per month. If you...

An 8.5"x11" original with 6% page coverage will only get 5,000 copies from a tube of ink if the average run length is only 25. However, the same original will yield 35,000 copies from a tube if the average run length is 1,000. Most of the ink ends up thrown away on masters if the...

Re: Who delivers your equipment?
We use a 3rd party delivery service who specialize in office equipment. They have stairclimbers, lift gates and big guys. They charge us $250 per delivery plus x amount per step over 5 steps. And they know how to handle the equipment without damaging it. After it is delivered, we send a tech to do the install and training. Small things like fax or printers we use a $75 courier or maybe the installing tech if it isnt a difficult transport.

Yeah, but the 5560 creative is about 30K I don't think I'll guote it against a 250, 351, 450 or even a Canon3220. Like someone said before, I should be the first one to contact the customer and not wait around for them to call me for a "price".

Re: Konica Minolta and 140lb index
We're dual line Konica and Ricoh. That info is accurate for some of the bizhub line, but not every model. The 350-250-200 monochrome engine, for example, does not do that. But, the C351 and C450 color engines do. No repercussions if engine is rated for the weight and paper meets spec. Otherwise, we'd handle it like any other service issue where the problem is caused by client's actions.

I got the weight information that I quoted above straight out of their spec sheet and Product and Sales Guide; it also was discussed during our sales team's launch training. It bears out with what our service team is seeing. I do not see anything in Konica's materials for this model series about t-shirts. Must say it surprises me that anyone tries to put t-shirt transfer materials through a laser printer or copier anyway, since the transfer material is fused to the t-shirt fabric with an...

Re: Adobe PostScript vs. Emulation
All you have to do is look at the competitive analysis (See Attached) between the Ricoh C4503 and C6502 against the competitors from Canon, Xerox, and KM to see how much of a difference True Adobe PostScript makes in the printing speed. Emulation machines are noticeably slower, to the point that you could argue that a lesser Ricoh needs to be proposed in order to compare accurately.
