Re: wireless nic on 224sp
I know the technology, I have not actually performed this specific scenario ... so those who have please verify that all functions are available. They should be because all the bridge does is take the place of the wiring. I had a customer hook up a 1055 with a wireless print server. The SmartNet would not work in this case because the wireless print server connected through the parallel port. But in the bridge scenario, connection is made through the Ricoh NIC so all functions should be...

Re: Can I Copy Mixed Sized Documents on a Copier?
I disagree. Most law firms and many insurance companies still have a commonly re-ocurring need for mixed size originals. I am currently working with one European shipping company based in NA that wants to do do mixed size originals with a mix of A3 and A4 documents. I say it cannot be done as the paper is all of different widths. I am hoping that my unscrupoulous competitive vendors will admit to the same..... not likely!!! They want the sale today! Please advise.

Re: Can I Copy Mixed Sized Documents on a Copier?
A3 (11 x 17) and A4 (8 1/2 x 11) can be run at the same time with auto paper select making what you put in what you get out using mixed-originals and the mixed originals setting. The sizes you mention are European, but I'm sure they will work. As long as it's a standard document size it should work.

Re: Can I Copy Mixed Sized Documents on a Copier?
Sorry, I meant to say a mix of A4 and Legal size documents. I agree most copiers should be able to do mixed size originals with a combo of A3/A4 and Letter-R/Legal. The problem I am having and I do not think it can be done is one of a mix of A4 and legal mixing North American and European sized paper in the same document. This is because the two paper sizes are of different widths.

Color Label Press University "Glossary of Terms" Part Ten, Course One
In the past I've called my self a hunter of wide format devices. I'm know moving on to call myself a hunter for color labels, which will lead me to placing net new label presses. Over the last month or so, I've noticed multiple rolls of color labels in Wawa's, Quick Chek (both of these are gas station/food markets here in New Jersey). In addition I also scoped multiple rolls of labels in McDonalds and Dunkin Doughnuts (or Dunkin as they have re-branded). See and ye shall find color labels...

Re: Sorters for Duplicators
I sold what you are referring to but like you say, very expensive and very limited applications because of the limitations. If you decide to persue this, you need to look 3rd party and higher-end, not the MBM's/Duplo's of the world. You want to deal with people that live in the "press" environment. Once you find what you are looking for, in my opinion, you need to negotiate a lead fee and then step away. You don't want to have the long-term responsibility to the product. What you would be...

Re: USA Presidential Poll
the defense spending does a lot for the economy and their are many jobs attached to the spending, I fear a large cut will put many many civilians out of work, and not only the ones that work for the Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines. Companies like Lockheed, GE, Tyco, etc. The first priority needs to privatize the US post office and turn it into a profit center and get it out of the loss column. Second cut foreign aid by 50%, let china spend their money and we'll keep a strong defense just in...

Re: Automated Tape Binding
Perfect binding is not tape binding. Perfect binding is a one peice cover that wraps around the document. Xerox does this on line. Coverbind makes a very productive off line unit the 201df. Great to compete with Xerox. There are other tape binding processes. You might check with MBM or BindUSA. Tape binding is losing it's appeal on-line even for Xerox

I guess I'm old school, but I like the public library or book store. Try: Tom Hopkins Zig Ziglar Frank Betcher Dale Carnegie Joe Girard Brian Tracy Frank Pacetta and there are many more ... if you're on the road (which most good sales reps are) a book or CD on tape is faster and I find easier to remember.
