Re: Why Social Selling Stinks for Most Copier Sales Reps

Larry Levine ·
Art, love this! You know my take on the integration of social into the sales process. Sales requires hard work as most will not put forth the effort. The reason why ones social anything stinks is their effort, plain and simple. Operating with an analig mindset in a digital world = death blow to a sales rep.

Re: 5 Questions for HP about the Acquisition of Samsung Printer Business Unit

I had the time at lunch today to listen to a recorded webex meeting from Photizo that offered up speculation on why HP bought Samsung. Here's my takeaways: Patents, more than 6,500 of them 1,500 world class engineers The eventual replacement of all canon marking engines with Samsung Thus, as there was much hype about the purchase of Samsung, I don't think was for the laser based engines, but more for the patents, the engineers, and the laser engines for HP printers. In addition, HP will now...

Ask the candidate what their purpose is, what would drive their core being to do what every it takes as long as it's legal, moral, and ethical to succeed in the career of sales? When people have the conviction for their purpose they will have the strength needed when the world of circumstances attempts to stop their momentum.

From what I remember I do not think I would want to hand out brochures from a ComColor device. Were they not more for communication than presentation? I know it has been awhile for me so perhaps they have evolved. Just sayin'.

Rick: You are correct, brochures printed on the comcolor would be, well let's say not that impressive, unless they printed them on the "rice paper" which would probably cost more than buying a full color printed brochure!! Too funny!

Re: Who's Afraid of the Epson WorkForce C20590 100ppm MFP?

@printguy @Art Post We have not sold a single one yet. Most people seem to have no interest in ink. I like the product. It is a Kyocera finisher. The problem with the finisher is that it slows the machine down to half speed. So ultimately someone is getting a 50ppm system, not a 100ppm if you have the finisher. Space is an issue if you have the finisher. I talk about the product to everyone but most people revert back to a toner system. I don't think this is going to be a game changer as...

Thanks for the info @Jason H . That's unfortunate, however I get the aversion to ink. Looking at this product it appeared Epson had perfected it. However I don't think I could sell a copier that has a huge paper curl. I never thought it would have a page curl as there is no fuser.
Comment

Re: Who's Afraid of the Epson WorkForce C20590 100ppm MFP?

Jason H ·
I think the part of the problem is even though the ink is dry, it has a moist feeling to it. When it drops off into the trays there is a hump (see pic) that the paper drops out on. I think that is part of the problem with the curl. The prints look good and once I lay the paper out on a desk it flattens out but in my opinion it just does not demo well with regular paper.

too bad there are so many crappy sales cultures in the business world. Too many companies look at sales people as a necessary evil and pay too much money to consultants that are so far removed from the industry that they don't have a clue. Most of these "consultants" will make a statement that we can make add more profit with our "new" program. Most times that program is to cut the comp plan of the sales people. I call it "Ikonism"

Art Here is my two cents worth. What goes around comes around in this world. Sometimes sooner, sometimes later. If and when we get to the point of people totally taking out the human to human contact in the sales process, they will then begin to miss that same human to human contact, and start to look to regain it. Its my belief that we will begin to see that very soon in things like facebook. Its a great way to help stay in touch with people. But once people begin to use it to avoid each...

To everyone in sales, you can perform much better and become more successful, if you just learn to master with consistency the basics. Many analogies have been made between sales and sports. It’s often been said the one key fundamental principle in sports is to focus...
