Re: Need HELP! Kyocera Color A3 question
Top three points I make when against Kyocera. #1. Take them color samples from your device and any Kyocera because the color output is sub par on all units. If you don’t have access to one look in your crm for an account you co-exist with Kyocera in. Or the next time you have a knock out make some samples and keep them in a binder. If color quality is important to the customer it will be a win. Another point is showing them you get what you pay for, meaning 3 tier color is what they have...

Re: MPS and Linux HELP!
So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

This is very true, and all too familiar. Closing the deal is all about building the value proposition. We fail to do that, and we experience the customers rejection! Try presenting the combined value of the digital copier and the Virtual Copier electronic paper management application as an integrated software solution. In fact, try it yourself...

The transactions were completed manually before launching the marketplace. The current version of the marketplace was only launched this past January, so you guys are the early adopters. Transactions can take the form of either a lease assumption (where one credit-approved client assumes the lease of another as-is), or a split-buyout (where...

Re: Assume My Copier Lease....What?
@Kitz: Dealer support is also a great question. Currently we approach this on a case-by-case basis. New transfers would go to an affiliated partner in the geographical territory that is qualified to service that equipment. Ultimately, we are building a network of independent dealers not unlike what the direct channel already has access to. This way, independent dealers can leverage the network for new contracts as well, such as when a sale is made to a head office that includes installations...

I have checked into Paper Port Pro6 and found that it does a lot of what the customer needs. Microsoft Document Imaging is also useful. The next step is to get the customer to come in and see the new 2238 and some of the scanning we are doing in our office. If I can get them in I believe between Virtual Copier, Paper Port, and MS they will have a lot of inexpensive solutions. I also believe that if I can separate the manipulation and focus on whether the customer believes the product will...

Re: Selling to a Car Dealer with Reynolds and Reynolds...
Good luck! Everyone is familiar with the situation. When I talk with DOT, or Objectif Lune or any VDP outfit, the issue is always, how can I determine what to do with the stream. yes we can grab it and apply it, but there is no metadata in the header to identify a sale transaction from a service request to a used car transaction so there is no way to work with the print stream when the data hits a hot folder or other virtual printer. Let me know if you discover anything ????

Re: What's the application that will cause Capture to really grow in the MFP space
End users will not embrace a solution that asks them to enter all the meta data themselves nor should they. It is simply not productive. In a busy environment you cannot have people fumbling with a virtual keyboard to input data for a scan job while the line behind them grows. This is where software comes into play which will "read" the scanned image and capture relevant metadata to attach to the document for indexing in the DMS. Relieving the user of this burden and getting the most...
