I know it doesn't make you feel any better, but Kentucky and Illinois are around $3.16. Someone sent me an email the other day about saving at the pump. Re: Network Charges?
I was just reading the thread in "Announcments" about the roll out of XP SP2. I hadnt considered the security changes that would affect our current installations. All of the mavens are recommending a gradual upgrade to SP2, and I am sure that if the customer has an IT staff, they will be able to handle it. But when the rest call in with a problem, my first question will be, "have you just upgraded your XP installation with SP2?" Do you want it fixed or do you want me to come out @ $75.00/Hr.

We had a similar problem. You'll notice if you go into the SP settings that they're still set correctly. Option "4" in our case, which was activation of both rolls and the 8" x 12" feed tray, but the LCD only shows the Bypass Tray option. This can be corrected by going into user tools, and selecting 1 system settings, 3 key op tools, 5 tray problem settings, and changing tray problem settings to "do not use bypass tray". In San Diego we have Konica/Minolta going in @ $.07 an image even on their low end C250 units and Canon and Xerox are charging $.08 per image but they are including 11 x 17 as a single click. We try to charge $.085 for color and $.014 for black but generally we end up matching one of our competitors quotes.

I think understanding how buyer's habits have changed & the amount of research they do online before agreeing to a meeting with prospective vendors is important, because the way dealers market to companies in their target market needs to change. Art, What is the native application the print stream is coming from? There are multiple solutions out there that can do this but some of it depends on the native application. Maybe more information could help. Also, what type of demo are they looking for? A log file output or just an automated system where they type or hit print and the command is sent automatically outputting duplex? There isn't much going on there just forcing duplex so I am curious what they are hoping to see. All the best

Well it's not exactly a subscription service. Take Ricoh ICE for example, if a dealer wants to resell it, it's available for purchase for 1-5 year terms for a decent discount. Now I've heard the same as you, that with the new intelligent series that users will be able to download apps and pay for them monthly. Which leads to a heck of a lot of questions. Who gets the comp? Is a credit card info residing on the hard drive? Who's going to support it if it's downloaded directly from the...

We are often guilty of looking at everything through a dealer's lense. Ricoh doesn't look at anything with an eye to the dealer channel. When you look at SAS from the Direct perspective things make more sense.
