Re: Will outside Sales Rep's go away?

Jason H ·
@Monte very true! Very well could be when. I will say with car buying, a friend of ours just bought a new car online - paperwork done digitally, car delivered to her house, and either a 7 or 14 day period that if she didn’t like it or want it anymore they come back and pick it up no questions asked. I often times get caught up in what “I” do and how “I” buy and not how “others” buy.

I would not sell the 5100 or 7140 without a Tameran stacker or finisher of some sort attached too it. Last year I sold a 7140 (the 14 D per minute) to a busy contracting office. First one I ever did. Delivered the machine with Ricoh's standard output attachments. I found out real quick that in the real world the Ricoh output attachments are useless. The combination of the machine being so fast and multiple users sending various size prints to the machine before previous jobs were removed...

Hi Art, I agree. Ricoh needs an entry level 4 D/min system. I have always thought Ricoh should take thier gel sprinter technology and develop a plotter around it, instead they rely on Epson to fill this void. They seem ready to concede the 4 d market to Oce, Kip and the plotter cometitors. I wonder if it is the aftermarket that drives the decision. With a 4 D-Size per minute you are generating less clicks and less aftermarket revenue. Perhaps they want use limited dollars to develope higher...

Well, of course. We all understand that there is NO question of ethics, both parties signed a contract and agreed to obligations. Both took on risks. Now one party has experienced those risks. We have a half dozen or so in the field, no complaints here, I did watch a customer send a print job of a 100 page booklet and there was no pause. Is this just happening with copies? If so, it could be a memory issue. The machine that I spoke about had the memory upgrade installed before we put it in the field. That may be the issue. Let me know what you come up with.

I then sent the first 5 pages of the 1022 service manual and it didn't pause at all. Our machine doesn't have the memory upgrade.
