Not saying it's right but if I am installing a new Ricoh that is replacing an old Ricoh, I move the Classic buttons to the Home screen and move the others out. I so seldom get a complete audience when doing install training so I feel the greatest imperative is to minimize the learning curve. Usually one of my selling points has been that the user interface is consistant with what they are used to.

Old Glory, we're in the same boat. I think if they haven't had a Ricoh system then it might be worthwhile to try to start them with the new stuff but I have to first retrain myself. I do like the Quick Copy widget and I think that might be a good way to introduce it to existing customers. I'd be interested to see what people who have never been exposed to the classic method find more user friendly.

If they are new to Ricoh I don't even go to the Classic screen. It is inevitable that the Classic Screen will cease to be an option some day. I usually also include the Quick Print Release to the Home Screen.

Finding out what is important to them about copying, and why copying is important are the keys to closing the sale. There may be secondary or follow-up questions pto gain a clear definition of what is important and why. QUESTION #4: IF I COULD DELIVER THE QUALITY THAT YOU DEMAND, SO THAT THE IMAGING IN YOUR...

Yes the "impending event close" is still a viable choice in our business. Whether it's the classic "This special price is only available for X amount of time" or "This is the only one we have at this price and my sales manager said the first one with paper work get it" still work. I know it can sound cheesy but if you can make it NOT sound cheesy.. it's good.

Your dealership is shooting itself in the ass, as is mine and most others who do not pay monthly recurring revenue commissions. It doesn't matter whether it comes from a traditional service agreement, an MPS (does just mean printers) agreement or Managed IT Services agreement. It should all be paid a residual. That aligns how our clients pay us, what ownership says their focus is and how we are compensated. A lot of owners are afraid that reps will grow recurring commissions to the point...

My understanding is they have eliminated the Classic Applications which I think is a terrible idea since so many of my customers are upgrading existing Ricoh machines. I like to make things as simple as possible and quite honestly customer's don't need all the extra fluff being thrown at them.

Re: Are Your Salespeople Good Losers? Ask Cam Newton...

Larry Levine ·
Old Glory/Jason, Exit interviews are a fantastic way to truly engage and understand win/lose situations. So easy to get pissed off and move on, human sales nature. Stop and think about all the other things you leave on the table your dealership can support. A true sales professional wants to know why. This is how you improve. All too often the classic is "lost because of price" no you were outsold! Winning is a great way to find out what you did well so it can be repeated over time.

Coming from many years of showing the classic functions I'm having a bit of a hard time transitioning. I'm in the process of training some new reps and thinking that I probably should have started with the new stuff. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Once they are CAD documents, they can easily be read by his estimating software. Even better... a full version of the software is only $279! The bad news... This new Canon Cash is working out a lot better than the Classic Program in my opinion. We almost needed a new admin position created just to keep up with Canon's old program for every little thing. In my experience though, and anyone else can correct me if I am wrong, Canon does not really do anything "extra" in terms of programs. I was working a deal for about 10 machines, some large, some small and Canon said no pricing help was available. They said if we wanted pricing help we needed to...
