COVID19 "Remote Working" Day One Hundred and Seven of Selling

COVID19 "Remote Working" Day One Hundred and Seven of Selling Copiers Earlier in the week I would have bet the ranch that my forecast for $20K would come to fruition this week. I had the verbal for the $20K mid day on Tuesday, prepared all of the docs on Wednesday because there were a few moving parts to this order. However those best laid plans of mice and men sometimes don't happen. I'm sure my DM was busy with other tasks and the thought of dropping everything so I could get the documents...

COVID19 "Remote Working" Day One Hundred and Ten of Selling

COVID19 "Remote Working" Day One Hundred and Ten of Selling Copiers How could I not write the blog today since today marks 110 business days that I was option to working remotely. With an average of 22 business days per month, today marks 5 full months. It was a terrible morning here in New Jersey. Right out 9:30AM we had some severe thunderstorms come through, by 10AM we were receiving tornado warnings. Tornado warning in New Jersey? Like I really need this, and I have no clue what to do...

Art, sucks to hear about the wf opp but those guys don't sound like someone you'd want to do business with anyway. maybe the gp and $$ would be good, but they don't sound like upright businessmen. I agree with the buyers are liars mentality, sucks when you get the old run around. Any time I've started to get that feeling over the last few years I just directly ask. If I got the shaft like you did on this one, sometimes I send back a chippy email or ask why you weren't considered based off of...

ty for the comment! The client can also select a lease with a $1.00 purchase option. God willing I'm still doing this in 5 years. The thought of mentioning Section 179 is more to give the client an alternative choice especially if they are not fond of leasing. There's a lot of risk out in the market and I think it's back to the days of 2008 where clients identified the risk and made their choice to lease or buy. Yes, I would love to have them lease since there would be another "trigger"...

"Essentially, Section 179 of the IRS tax code allows businesses to deduct the full purchase price of qualifying equipment and/or software purchased or financed during the tax year. That means that if you buy (or lease) a piece of qualifying equipment, you can deduct the FULL PURCHASE PRICE from your gross income". ... I interpret this to mean that you are suggesting that a customer should take the full tax deduction this year to get short term tax relief. This means in years 2-5 no business...

COVID19 Remote Working Day One Hundred and Sixteen of Selling Yes, I've been slowing down a bit on my blog posts lately. When you're in a bit of a thunk who the heck wants to write about that! I've done my fair share of prospecting this week and I'm going to get nowhere near 400 calls. I'll be happy if I get my hundred or so along with my hundred emails. I have one appointment scheduled for tomorrow and there is no closing opportunity. I'm still hoping my opportunity ($13k) from last week...

The future normal will likely not be kind to print volumes. People will still need quality, secure office devices to perform their tasks. A3 devices will still be required. I sell more A3 than A4 by far but you have to compete at all price points in the market.

I agree about the future of print volumes. I still sell more A3 than A4's also. Our industry will move forward and continue to thrive but it will be more about managing everything for the client.

I have been watching a lot of camping and backpacking YouTubes and movies these days. I avoid any kind of violent movie. I recommend Martin Sheen in "The Way", "Homemade Wanderlust" with Dixie and "Camping with Steve". Anything to sidestep the ugly world of US politics and COVID-19. Customers and friends who try to engage me in politics, I talk about camping.

COVID19 Remote Working Day One Hundred and Seventy-Six of Selling

Today is 176 business days since I was optioned to working remote. Those 176 business days now totals eight full months that I've been in some sort of lockdown. Our Governor keeps toying with the idea that he may start additional lockdowns in the near future because NJ is now averaging 4K positive tests each day. I know he's blowing smoke out of his ass for two reason. One the State of New Jersey is flat ass broke, reducing the tax revenue stream will force a bankruptcy. The second would be...
