COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Twenty-Nine of Sales

Another day another dollar, you never know what tomorrow will bring you, the harder you work the luckier you get. If you're a consistent follower of my blogs you'll see that I use those statements quite often when blogging. I've never shied away from hard work in fact I quit high school in mid-way through the 11th grade because I wanted to make money. Yes, I had the desire and the determination to make money but I was missing one key factor. At sixteen I didn't know how to work hard or maybe...

For some reason sleeping last night didn't go that well. I worked late and by the time I finished last nights blog my mind was running at full speed as I tried to get to to sleep. Too many deals in my head! Last night my wife mentioned that she wanted to go see our granddaughter today. Am I bad guy? All I thought about was how much I wanted to get done today. I had a 1PM appointment that I moved to 3PM with a net new suspect late yesterday. i made the time because it's what we do. This...

I received my early constant contact numbers from the email I sent yesterday. It was a little better than I thought for and much better than the first. 17% open rate and 5% click through. That translates to about 120 opens and 6 of the opens clicked through. I even had multiple clicks from multiple people. The plan is not to call the clicks right away but to collect some data on who is clicking what. I'm thinking after 120 days (4 campaigns) I'll be able to generate some net new leads. The...

I think we're going to make to an entire quarter of working remote in New Jersey. Phase two is schedule to start in two weeks (ten business days) and will be phased in over the next 4 weeks. As I said yesterday I don't see us opening up completely until Labor Day. Tonight I was on the phone with my good friend Jesse Harwell, he's the owner of Pahoda Imaging along with Perfect Copier . He tells me he's outfitted a really cool van and is taking a road trip east in 30 days. He wants to visit...

Short blog tonight please Yay I was able to knock out about 30 calls today along with maybe 20 emails. I was able to set two appointments and added zero opportunities today. Earlier in the AM I received the docs for the two small A4 orders I was waiting on. Thus I'm finally on the books for June and sitting at a measly $6K. One of my wide format net new appointments went well this AM. This is the one where I pitched the pre-owned MP W6700. Client told me they want it all they need to do is...

Have you ever finished a day and everything was a blur? Kind of how I felt after I clocked out about 6PM. I never been a big drinker and I might indulge once a month but I will be ready to tie one on after we've emerged from these uncertain times. Yesterday I made the first contact with an existing client via email to alert them to recent research that I completed about reducing their total annual costs. Those costs included the lease and the maintenance & supplies. The reply was "yes,...

Sales Journal Day 58 Yay, it's Friday and today was a good way to end the week, not the great way that I had hoped but we can't have everything our way. Not getting those things that we want will keep us on the path to the finish line. I had a bunch of items that needed to be completed before my 11AM appointment with a net new account. I was working by 7AM this morning working on developing a side by side comparison for the client. I took 6 key features that the client stated they had to...

One week from today New Jersey will begin Phase 2 of re-opening. Phase 2 will be a 2-4 week process. Out door dining, out door drinking (can you believe that) and non-essential business can now have people (limited) in their stores. No word on in-door dining, gyms, salons, barbers another other personal type services. Can't imagine eating out side and you're suppose to wear a mask when you're not eating. It's gotten to the point of why bother if I can't enjoy my-self. Rather easy day today...

COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Eighty-Nine of Sales My day started at 5AM with a short trip to my back yard to see the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean. I was attracted the hues of orange, purple and blue that was getting ever so bright to the east. After 45 minutes it was time to get ready for my 7am appointment. I arrived early and met with the decision maker as we both kept a six foot distance. I did the measuring, took the pictures, check the electric and it was time for a short chat on...

Art, wish I was as close to the beach as you! We're counting down the days until mid-August when we've got our OBX vaca planned. So soon, yet so far away! Today's post mentions your further qualification / inspection of the installation site. This is something that so many (myself included) sometimes fail to do. The manufacturers sometimes throw a kink into the works with the power. For example Canon's iRc5535/5540 require a 15 amp plug while the iRc5550/5560 require a 20 amp plug. Just...

COVID19 Remote Working Day One Hundred and Fifty-One of Selling Copiers I'm not going to write about my day. Yes last week had it's ups and downs, with more downs than ups. Today marks the last week of the month and there are four days left to finish the struggle. Mind you I had no intention of posting anything today. However I could not resist the temptation of creating this video. The title is so apropos as to what we are all going through in this time of COVID19. Some peeps from our sales...

WooHoo! One more day we'll be at the seven month mark for working remote or least I will be. Am I happy? Not really because going we're now into the last two months of the fiscal year. In previous years you could do the research on your clients and pick those that you wanted to pay a visit to. In most cases these were the clients that you have the best relationships with. With most businesses not being in the office or sparsely populated in New Jersey that may not work this year. I guess the...

COVID19 Remote Working Day One Hundred and Fifty-Six of Selling Copiers Monday sometimes the best and worst day of the week. I'm in the camp of "I Don't Like Mondays", because I truly love my weekends and anytime off is a good time. However today was a Monday unlike many other Mondays and that's because I was sick as a dog last night. Not the COVID but more or less a 24 hour bug that was horrid. It was about 3AM on Monday went I finally drifted off. Yes, I woke up late and yes I had a...

COVID19 Remote Working Day Two Hundred and Forty-Nine of Selling Copiers Within a week or two at least here in the Northeast we'll hit the one year mark for COVID19. Two hundred and sixty-five days would mark the full year of selling days, but that doesn't include holidays so the real number is probably 21.5 work days a month which brings us to two hundred and fifty-eight days. At this point in time it's really hard for me to process how long this has been going. Some news in New Jersey, our...

COVID19 Remote Working Day Two Hundred and Fifty-One of Selling Copiers At this point in time could we get to three hundred days? I'm so glad this week is over because I snagged another zero in revenue for the week. It's been almost three weeks with no orders! As I mentioned a few days ago this is some light at the end of the tunnel but it seems the tunnel was a little longer than I anticipated. Now I find myself with seven selling days left in the month. There's an outside chance I might be...

My day started kinda slow with our weekly virtual sales meeting with the team. After that it was time to make the rounds with calls and emails to move some opportunities closer to the finish line. In the end I was able to get one opportunity closer to the ordering process and the rest of the calls and emails seems to have fallen on deaf ears today. Yes with five selling days left the thought of pulling a zero is weighing on me. My afternoon was supposed to be dedicated to calls and emails...
