Good god. what a piece of work (Putting it nicely). Talk about screwing over your employees. At what point did this seem like a good idea for a company of Pats size. I know everyone is hurting but the 100 mil dealer is not hurting like the 5-10 mil dealer right now in my opinion. Glad he bowed to the pressure but that should have never been considered.

Re: Post-Virus We Must Defeat The Zombie Companies!
Although I am 60% on board with your move to A4 strategy, most of the rest of the stuff you are posting is "knocking it out of the park"! I would like to see a poll. As a business owner, during COVID-19 would you prefer? 1). No lease payments for 90 days 2). 1/2 price lease payments for one year The auto industry is pushing no payments for 90 days but I think business owners are more concerned about cash flow for the next year. I think the correct strategy is to offer as part of your...

Re: Post-Virus We Must Defeat The Zombie Companies!
SalesServiceGuy, I would suggest that a payment strategy is not something I see valuable at all. Customers need help deferring payments on what they already own. In all do respect. A payment strategy is not helpful to end user strictly based on selling a new MFP. The Imaging Channel's resellers who only sell print equipment are going to find themselves in serious trouble. Customers don't need to upgrade their all already oversold A3 to another one. Dealers should credit back the unused...

Re: Post-Virus We Must Defeat The Zombie Companies!
We generally do not build in prepaid copy/ print blocks into our leases. We do give away free copy prints up front but only intended as a short term bonus. We do normally charge a $25.00 minimum monthly maintenance fee but have waived that until the economy rebuilds momentum. I am in Canada, lease vendors are currently offering 90 day payment deferrals added back on at the end of term for those customers who request them. Leases expire every month and customers are happy with the equipment...

Re: Post-Virus We Must Defeat The Zombie Companies!
I have to dial back the 1/2 price payments for one year. Most SMB business will only get lease approved for a six month Step lease. So for those customers wanting to preserve cash flow, a six month 1/2 price lease cost followed by a 60 month regular cost lease would be the best offer. On a $5k lease this would add approx $139.00 to the total finance costs spread over 66 months ($2.00 month).

Is it just me, or does West McDonald look like Wolverine? I watched the Seat-Based Billing video that was posted from the Top 100 Summit. Definitely some interesting points going back and forth. Print Audit has done a great job of persistently marketing seat-based pilling to the copier industry.

And unless you're a pilot for the Air Force there's almost nothing like it in the world. It's thrilling, it's exciting, it's invigorating. Once. But you know...

Brings back many xclint memories. I sold the Canon bubblejet color printer in the late eighties or early nineties. We got list for everyone of them. I forget the model number but it was the only one that was sheetfeed and could do upto 12x18 or 13x19. Can anyone recall that model number BJC 810?

Re: Memjet and Canon Enter Into Cross-License Inkjet Technology Agreement
This announcement is HUGE! For a wide format buff like me, this gives Canon the ability to compete with HP PageWide. It will probably be a few years before we see any print devices, but we all know time goes so quickly. In addition we'll probably see A3 ink MFP's also. Just boggles my mind that the likes of KIP, nor Ricoh has committed to Memjet's waterfall print head yet

Re: Memjet and Canon Enter Into Cross-License Inkjet Technology Agreement
Art, I agree. The first thing I thought of when I saw this was this may be Canon's answer to HP's PageWide A3s as well as Wide Format. Vince

Re: Memjet and Canon Enter Into Cross-License Inkjet Technology Agreement
Canon needs to make serious improvements to the technology, The Oce Velocity, and the Xerox IJP 2000 were both Memjet large format machines and both were epic failures. Why would KIP get involved with Memjet? The 800 and 900 series machines are doing great against the HP Pagewide. If Canon can implement there printhead technology into the Memjet Printhead we may have something.

Re: Memjet and Canon Enter Into Cross-License Inkjet Technology Agreement
Toshiba Tec has been manufacturing inkjet print heads for industry for many years. Japanese manufacturers that make and provide copiers worldwide are facing stagnation in the demand for their products, mainly due to the market saturation in advanced countries and a reduction in profits from consumables. As a result, they have lost their investment incentive for toner-based product development. While they are aggressively investing in and developing products for production and industrial...

Re: Leasing Companies are not Exempt from Changes
Wow - that was quite the read. While there are a few details that I have a differing opinion on, I cannot agree more with Ray on the the fact that change is coming and the Leasing industry has not choice but to change with it. The question is not "will leasing companies change", but how much will they change and how much will they be able to change within their existing framework. Many of these leasing companies are part of larger banking organizations and will the regulatory and legal...

Re: Leasing Companies are not Exempt from Changes
Thanks for commenting the first step to change is the ability to discuss why you should. As all of know change is usually a forced reaction unfortunately. I would say that the real disruptions to any deliverable are those which come from new places. too many see their competitors as someone like them. Today we all need to look in new places. Regarding Quicken I believe the mass market they attract are not 800 plus credit scores. The interest paid by end-users doesn't need to necessary be...

Re: Foxconn, Sharp Reportedly Set To Sign Takeover Deal March 31
with the original deal for $4.3 billion US dollars. Sharp USA reported that 45 million was to go to the North American market for building the business imaging division. In a document from Sharp the 45 million. Since the buy number is now 1/5th less. I would expect that number to now drop to 36 million or so.

Re: Foxconn, Sharp Reportedly Set To Sign Takeover Deal March 31
I would be surprised if any such discretionary spending can survive unless Fox Con desides to dump a bunch of money into making this acquisition pay off. Remember that Sharp has already cut to the bone and some things probably cannot be cut any further.
