Re: Things getting weird for Xerox Dealers
Very strange. I interact with the CRG on a regular basis and have had no indication of reduced staff, etc. I can’t comment on your issue with parts as we do not rely on xerox to send our parts, we stock and replenish out of our own warehouse. No substantial difference between xerox parts on b/o than Canon or HP. Not nearly as bad as Ricoh. We dropped the ricoh product years ago as we couldn’t handle the constant toner b/o issues. Parts I can somewhat understand, but toner? Hope that your...

I can't confirm these specifics, but the Global dealer down here stopped selling Sharp and Konica Minolta a few years ago, so I assumed this happened awhile back.

Re: Question: Xerox technicians
I can confirm a new offering. Xerox has a new program for signing on new dealers and not putting them in the Global or Agent bucket. These dealers can then be trained to use thier own technicians. I will check with my source about them using Xerox techs.

Re: Xerox will install 16,000 printers
This seems wrong on so many levels.... 16,000 printers? 5 machines per site?? 10 year contract??? I feel as if a DMS / workflow solution would have saved them so much more.

Re: New Xerox CEO calls Fujifilm’s bid to renew merger talks ‘delusional,’ casts shadow over Fuji Xerox venture
Frak, who is going to blink first? Xerox or Fujifilm Xerox states that they will not renew the 50 year relationship with Fuji-Xerox, Fuji Xerox manufacturers most of Xerox's MFPs. Where would Xerox go for MFP's?

Re: Xerox explores sale of leasing finance unit: sources
Oce did that 10 years ago and went bust. They didn't realise how much they relied on the monthly rental income and how inflexible third party leasing companies are when you want to upgrade mid term. The financing arm is usually the most profitable side of the business. High interest rate to customers, low rates for them and if the customer goes bust you generally get you equipment back and at the end of the contract you get your gear back.

Do you think Icahn and Deason are in it for the long-term? Or is this a corporate takeover to temporarily raise the stock price and cash out on their investment?

Re: Panasonic Canada discontinues A3 Copier Distribution March 2011
Did Panasonic make their A3 MFPs for anyone else? Were they ever sold under a non-Panasonic label? The color units have a "Fuji" look to them and earlier A3 color units were also sold as Xerox WorkCenters and were from Fuji.

I am certain they were actually Fuji engines labeled as Panasonic models.

(Updates with Honda, Nissan closures beginning in fifth paragraph. See {EXT2 } for reports on the quake.) March 11 (Bloomberg) -- Companies including Sony Corp. and Toyota Motor Corp. halted output at plants after an 8.9- magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Japan, damaging production facilities and causing power outages. Re: How will the earth quake in Japan affect...
The earthquake and tsunami that have roiled Japan so far have not caused sizable production or supply chain problems for the Rochester area's major employers. Eastman Kodak Co. has two production facilities in Japan that produce printing plates. The Gumma facility, two hours northwest of Tokyo, sustained minor damage in the disasters "and should be able to go back in production fairly soon," said company spokesman Christopher Veronda. "We believe that any impacts to the supply chain will be...

Re: Japan Crisis
Hi Art, Hope below help you understand the situation. This information came from industry analysts. OEMs Canon: Some plants are still not operational. They are facing serious shortage of Polyester from Kao. Biggest damage for MFP production is aspheric lens production at Utsunomiya plant. This is a key component for their MFPs, and recovery may take months. Tohoku Ricoh: Some of the facilities restarted operation, but not for chemical toner. Also finisher (for MFP/POD) assembly lines are...

We had the Samsung and then moved to Muractec, support is fantastic from Muratec. We also registered with Sammy for a service center for there systems. Wehave been getting service calls on small printers, however its a new account and a contact that we did not have before! We have about 12 of the 45ppm devices in the field, all are working well and we are averaging one call for 30,000 pages! Most are user op since they are printer based MFP. Sammy has introduced a 55ppm, Muractec is suppose...

this may help. 6030 need additional memeory to print e size, cannot print 30 x 42 size. Current dealer promo is "but two, get two" so they can effectively sell for 1/2 price. 6030 made by Fuji of Japan, has been avialble there for 2 years, and has not done well. Re: Printer or Copier technician needed for full time work - Carlsbad
What interesting is that this is an IT company looking for a copier/printer tech, just like many dealers making the move to IT, IT companies are looking to invade the copier service space. When I saw $20 an hour for New Mexico, I thought that was pretty good pay, but it seems the tech would be a contractor thus having to pay for medical, gas, tolls etc. Am I correct with this? Art

Re: Xerox C75 Press Question
Yes. You can get an EFI external or embedded RIP with this machine. There is also a Xerox FreeFlow RIP option.

Re: Xerox C75 Press Question
The embedded is the cheapest(followed by the FreeFlow, then the External)
Reply
Re: Xerox C75 Press Question
The embedded Fiery is quite a bit cheaper, but comes very basic. I have had a few instances in which my customer had to buy the Impose package afterwards. The Fiery EX server includes Compose, Impose, and the Color Profiler Suite with the ES-2000 Spectrophotometer, a must have for all Print-for-Pay shops.
