We are still a dealer but we have not sold a LEXMARK in quite a while. They eliminated the MPS Elite program we were own, or at the least removed us from that program. I never had anyone ask about the security due to the Chinese ownership but it’s a great point. Honestly, I have found their support, to us at least, to be very subpar. Our support from brother has been phenomenal the last 2 years. Most of my printer clients are replacing the lexmarks with the brothers as fast as they can.

Taking a deeper dive, knowing that the U.S. DoD Inspector General recommends adding Lexmark to the banned list with Huawei (Lenovo and GoPro also), does that make you uncomfortable when pitching a Lexmark unit?

Do you know which OS they are using? Is the USB connector on a hub. If they are using a front panel connector on the computer, ask them to try a rear panel connector as there are known issues with the front panel connectors.

when I said HUB, i meant USB hub not NW hub. My next step would be to replace the USB cable. Has the machine been operating on USB prior to this problem? Are other USB devices working from this comp? There were a few conectivity issues corrected with firmware upgrades but none with USB.Nevertheless, if the above doesnt help, upgrade the firmware. I am certainly not as network savvy as some of the IT gods on this site, but here is something else that you may want to consider (and IT gods, please correct me if I have been misinformed): I am told that wireless networks are considerably slower than standard ethernet connections (as slow as 11 mbps, I'm told).
