In December, the ailing Japanese electronics maker said it reached a partnership with U.S.-based Qualcomm, which agreed to invest $120 million in a project to jointly develop display panels. Re: Inclusive / free toner strategy?
Thank you for posting my query. Got a couple of good ideas already in the last day from this post. I am very interested to get the techs opinion on adjusting the toner supply, bias, laser etcetera to see if the units could run a bit leaner. Like I said, on the old kit you could still do it but I am a bit weary to just try it on the new digital kit. I would have to run a project and get a few benchmark units in the field and check the usage against previous. Color also represents a big...

Re: How does Ricoh remote compare to print fleet?
Well, I evaluated @remote years ago before we decided on Printfleet so my info may be dated. From what I recall @remote did a fine job of collecting meters on my Ricoh devices. Not so well on non-ricoh devices. It did not have any accounting capabilities as it simply pulled data from the copiers. Printfleet does the same, pulls meters from devices, has very robust reporting such as: Want to know how much your printer prints from 8-9am Monday morning? It can tell you. The quality of the data...

Re: print tracking
Sorry to ressurect an old topic, but I've been working on this recently and thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. You can implement a solution that tracks prints at the server level as Vince suggested. This works fine as long as your mac users have a login on the w2k server. It will report who and what printed. The issue is that it can't track anything else. If the customer has project codes or additional information to input, they will need a solution that includes Macintosh support. Equitrac...

I asked him why he wasn't stopping and he said look at that place, there's no way that guy has any money to buy a copier. Turns out this guy was a fairly big developer and that building was his new office. They had not started construction on the project yet. They went in and the office had a...
