Re: Hiring Sales Reps - what are you hearing

Art Post ·
Surprising there are no replies yet. I would figure this to be a "hot" topic. We recently found one in the age demographic that will work out. He has more than a 45 minute ride, has closed a few orders already. Maybe you need to show them $500 at the interview and ask how they would like to get that $500, by working a week or trying to talk you out of it. After reading your thread it seems that neither of those "salespeople" have the "desire" to compete, yet alone the determination to "win".

I’m a little late to this party but had the thread open since it was posted. As a 35 year old i straddle the “millennial” and old school gap (in my opinion haha). There is value of ordering things online that can be commonly used or even basic electronics. But if it’s anything above basic, I still believe talking to someone even if on the phone, pays dividends. We recently bought a new vehicle for my wife and explored for weeks online our options, the new vehicles options, what the price...

That sounds like several cases that I have worked. You should call the Software and Solutions team. We have some ways of looking at the print drivers and print steam that can determine what the actual problem is. From what you are describing, the ERP system is not fully PCL compatible. The functions that are not showing up are driven in the Windows section of the print process. On average, business computers are replaced every 5 years. That means (on average) 20% of all computers are replaced each year. If you did NOT charge for reinstalling drivers, you would need to employ someone (or several someones) full-time to drive around reinstalling print drivers on every client's computer they just replaced. It seems those customers most unwilling to pay are also those most unable to accomplish simple tasks such as reinstalling a print driver on their own. Funny story:...

Yes, but the auto dealers had great political clout in the 20's/30's when the industry was new. The manufacturers were distracted with growth and labor problems and failed to defend the consumers or themselves. The dealers were the "home team" in each market and were able to lock up the state legislatures, and (permanently?) keep the extra layer of markup in the business, preventing it from logically rationalizing to a direct model. MFP market is not even an rounding error by comparison, the...

So, if you were to have a sales team that generated 160,000 per month, all were 60 months, then the "pad" or extra revenue to the company would be $6,680 per month and if that average was kep up for the year that would represent $80,160 in "pad" or extra revenue.
