Re: Hiring Sales Reps - what are you hearing

Art Post ·
Surprising there are no replies yet. I would figure this to be a "hot" topic. We recently found one in the age demographic that will work out. He has more than a 45 minute ride, has closed a few orders already. Maybe you need to show them $500 at the interview and ask how they would like to get that $500, by working a week or trying to talk you out of it. After reading your thread it seems that neither of those "salespeople" have the "desire" to compete, yet alone the determination to "win".

Re: Is anyone else facing this from Xerox?

skbens (Guest) ·
In PA, Xerox has been pushing this promo to the school districts for three years now. We have a couple of disctricts that have Riso's and won't even entertain us on the copier side. The only way you are going to beat this is to wait and hope they screw up with servicing the account, other than that, there's no way to beat the price. Most of the schools are very happy with the program, the ones that aren't on it, hate Xerox and refuse to allow them on the RFP. I haven't heard anyone get hit...

I do a lot of "contract disassembling" and am very successful at it - It's kind of like a fun sport or hobby to me. US & UK contract law are almost exactly the same. That would be an unenforceable penalty in both UK & US. Here's a reference to "Penal Damages" on Wikipedia that refers to US law. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penal_damages Most of the people I know who work in the copier industry are of the belief that these clauses are legal and enforceable. That works to my advantage,...

We have been using CoActiv (now element) for deals with lower credit and also Leaf has been pretty good for us. I refuse to use Marlin now as we have never had good dealings with them. I did run across Providence Capital the other day and had a deal where the customer had no credit whatsoever and the customer came up with a solution where they would lease the system for 24 months but would put down a deposit of something like 2,500.00. They accepted these terms but 4 months later we still...

3 Strategies Sales Professionals Use To Decline Being Invited To The Pity Party Of Discouragement

Larry Levine ·
Sales professionals constantly face the temptation to give into discouragement. Bad news and rejection are inevitable in sales. What's important is how you handle it. Let's be honest, we all get discouraged. It’s just one of those potholes we face as we navigate down the road called sales. When we get discouraged our attitude, belief and emotions turn negative. When this happens our productivity plummets, we tend to retreat, withdraw and bitch about everything. The risk of giving up on...

CIT has to be the worst financing source in our industry. Just had a situation with them last week. This is a direct published rate. Anyway, I took it to Leaf with the buyout to keep quote and was able to capture another $2,000 in profit.
