Found out today, that Assurant does cover floods, I actually got a document from them about their services and I'll post it here later. Seems like most BOP policies will not cover floods, and Assurant will. However this leads to another issue, when leasing companies ask for "proof of insurance" and get a copy of the rider, do they not check to see if their equipment is covered in case of flood? I'm in the same boat. I now think that taking the leasing company's insurance is the best option for the customer. My customers with leasing company coverage have had a delay of a few weeks but next week I will deliver the first unit that was covered. Took a while but its a done deal. Another customer with their own insurance immediately got new gear right away. They were dead in the water without equipment so they did a new lease. I beleive the T's and C's on all leases says insurance will be billed unless a certificate of insurance is provided regardless of PO or not. Also as a municipality isnt there a standard Fiscal funding out clause maybe the town councel just needs to defund the dept or copier.

There is a special place in hell for people who rip off churches. Have a church in my home town that was ripped off for about $20K by a copier company that had already gone out of business. The vendor wrote the church a 63 month lease with the service packed into the lease payment 3 months after the sherif had put a lock and chain on their doors. FWIW, we haven't been a pandealer for many years now, and can still order parts, anything we want.. . . from MSC. What is MSC? I just got off the phone with Scott, my (former) sales rep. Apparently Panasonic cut 15,000 jobs nationwide (last day is end of February), and dumped all but the top handful of dealers. Those employees who lost their jobs can re-apply, but the "new" positions will be far fewer. Here's what I know so far: -If you have an existing Parts account, you'll keep it. Whew.

I was able to confirm with GBC that the ProClick P3000 is discontinued. They did sell lots of them but withdrew the product over issues of reliability. Thanks for helping me not stepping in it in front of a potential customer. I have a local GBC sales rep helping me but I am unsure how buddy buddy he is with the competition in town.

I see where you are coming from John. I cannot comment on your SM because I have known some "small town dealer-owners" who will contrict a service depts effectiveness. Sometimes because he doesnt trust the SM, sometimes because he doesnt trust anyone. If you cut the balls off of the members of the choir, you will have a choir of sopranos. Flat rate seems silly to me, we have some techs that can spend all day in one building running calls (because that Building is their territory) and others that can drive 500 miles in a single day. The intent may be to reward fewer return trips, but unless their territories all cover the same geographic area, it just rewards those with "in-town" territories. My company pays techs .37 cents a mile, and it adjusts Monthly (it used to adjust Quarterly until the recent crisis) tied to the price...

Ricoh MFPs use 2 bit depth technology with 4 shades per color, vs. Konica's 8 bit depth with 256 shades per color. The Konica color engine (which came from the Minolta side, noted for their color technology) handles color better because it is built to. (What I see when I look at print samples of the same photo: the Konica color looks crisper and more "full bodied"; the Ricoh color looks blotchier and pixelated.) If you have a exacting graphics or marketing client, you can't just skate by.

We pretty much combine contracts as much as possible & target offer contract profitability more so than per machine. Occasionally, there will be separate contracts (or meter groups) for out of town placements based on varying CPPs, different models, servicing dealer requirements, etc.

I am dealing with this right now, my DBM is looking into it but I'm skeptical having lost two previous accounts to Ricoh Direct. One was a school district we had seven mfp's in Ricoh had one billable obsolete AF 650 so "technically" we weren't the incumbent. Ricoh has a lot of ways to get around their rules. Avoid Insulting the Customer Obvious, right? Well, people do it without even realizing by using comments like "did you understand that?" and "are you following what I'm saying?".
