1). The new e4508LP uses the heat of the fuser to decolorize the blue toner to clear. The seperate RD30 erasing device is still available and presents a few advantages. 2). The MSRP does not include the seperate RD30 erasing device nor is it needed. 3). Not yet available. 4). Not yet available but probably. 5). Not yet available. 6). Regular 20 lb bond paper works fine. 28 lb bond paper will produce a better erase. 7). 45 cpm is the speed of black only. 35 cpm is the speed of the erase...

There is an all inclusive cpc charge for the Erasable Blue toner. The cost per copy analysis suggests that if on a 60 month lease you do not expect the the customer to erase more than 210,000 pages (3,500 pages per month) you can forget the parts cost and charge the same cpc as for Black at around $0.010 per page with a decent profit. There is no charge other than the users effort to recycle pages printed with erasable blue. If a sheet of paper costs $0.010 and Erasable Blue costs $0.010 you...

There is no charge to erase pages. A 3rd paper drawer would probably be useful. Letter/ Legal/ Erasable. The number of erased pages are recorded and displayed in the useful Paper Re-use Report which describes sheets of paper saved, CO2 saved and money saved. The Eco-MFP can erase pages at 17.5 sheets per minute.

We should excuse the P4P'ers and argue over coffee when I get back like we usually do![/QUOTE] I don't know...I for one kind of enjoy the banter. For what it's worth...I recycle. I figure if there is someone that wants a portion of my trash, I don't mind maintaining a seperate container to accommodate but it has nothing to do with trying to save a tree or anything else for that matter. Like Jay Leno's old Dorito commercials..."We'll make more." If we get low on trees...

Well, I recycle as well, but my goal is mainly to prevent my trash from winding up in a landfill. As far as the trees, we're currently using more of them than we are replacing. The amount of forested area on the Earth is massive, so cutting down a tree or 100 or 1,000 trees doesn't seem like it makes any effect. Over a 5 year period, we lose about 1% of our forested areas. This means an area previously listed as "forest" has to be reclassified as something else like plain, swamp, etc. That...

Something to think about as well, adding to what was mentioned by Mega. The Japanese division is making the bulk of their profits on the manufacturing of toner. That is the money tree for them. They sell to Ricoh USA and they work through their channels to distribute the boxes. The ultimate goal is to “place the box” Ricoh USA makes their overhead by the profit on the box moving it to the Dealer and other channels. The profit make by selling the box is what keeps the “Reps paid and the...

Depending on the flavor of XP, you can do it two ways. Out of 22,500 customers for our local power company, there are 4,800 left to hook up, and unfortunately, I am one of those 4,800. The biggest reason we aren't hooked up yet, is the alleys in the neighborhood are littered with trees and limbs. The tree crews have to get in and clear the trees before the power company can come in. We have neighbors with gas stoves, so we have a means to cook food, and I have a gas fireplace, which is what has been heating the house. About 2,000 generators have...

Geeesh, you ask a great question! I really not sure if there is an answer for that. All of my accounts scan whether it's scan2email or scan2folder. Most are then moving those documents to a place on the server or another pc where they are stored in a windows alpha tree folder structure. When I speak about entering meta data at the copier, so that they can perform a better search, it seems to have turned them off. Many users feel that they can find the documents that they've scanned and don't...

Ok, I was told today that there is no MSRP for the toner, however I was able to get dealer cost and confirmation that the stated yield is 21,500 pages. I'm going to double the price for the MSRP, thus the cost would or should be in the area of $187 per cartridge. Which means based on 5% coverage the cost per page for toner only is .00869 I also needed to do some research on paper cost. I'm going figure in 35.00 per case since the erasable system should be placed in colleges, universities,...
