Hi Art, We once developed this for the IDEAL 8520 stapler but we can do that for every stapler of course.

That's correct, it was discontinued in lieu of the new MP 501SP & 601SP

If it helps, Canon A4 staplers are usually around $900 whole sale.

Re: All Ricoh A4 devices = no stapler
The 501/601 are based on a Kyocera MFP without a stapler, so Ricoh didn't have much of a choice on that one. Agreed that its a disadvantage against other A4s, so with Ricoh you will either have to sell the C401 with a finisher or an A3 MFP for the foreseeable future.

While our Canon dealership sells neither product line, I'm pretty sure they're open to dealers. Canon's website shows a few dealers in our area for both the varioprint and imagepress models you listed.

Re: Are Copier Sales Reps Asking the Right Questions
As you said, this blog wasn't meant to cover all the bases but your comments about brand loyalty and brand/service provider loyalty are only true if the decision maker has been the same for each decision. If you aren't talking to the owner, you may be talking to a totally different person than the one that made past decisions. You need to know that before you decide whether to pack your bags and walk away. Also, in a leased equipment environment, the decision to stay with the same brand and...

CPP is very low for the AIO unit. This is a new engine, so overall service costs are estimates only at this time. Canon looks to have a winning combo on their hands. Where's Ricoh and KM in this segment?

Re: Canon's new 75PPM A4 MFP series
Ricoh has four black devices and none of them staple. MP 501SPF (52 ppm ) and the MP 601SPF which I believe is 62 ppm)

As much as I am not a fan of A4, but realizing it’s our necessary evil, I hope they do. The A4 has for the most part killed it for us as sales people. We have to sell many more units to make the same revenue....revenue, I say....profit margin is good for the most part, but we still have to sell more united to keep everyone happy. Was the worst thing a manufacturer could do in my opinion.

Re: Canon's new 75PPM A4 MFP series
This looks like it is just the Canon version of the HP engine they OEM for them so yes I would expect to see a colour one HP deployed thousands of M630’s (predecessor) at one of my customers doing big volumes - pretty robust Will be interesting to see how much longer the HP relationship with canon goes on..

Re: Canon imageRUNNER Advance C3535i questions
when you load the bypass tray it will auto recognize the paper in a pop-up menu, and if you look closely there is a section near the bottom where it shows what a media is defaulted and a button that says “change “. This is where you would program in the media wait. I believe it would be heavy six, if you hit the details button on that screen you will see it by GSM The varnish would be questionable. I’m thinking, try using the selection for “2nd side of printed media”

Re: UPDATE 3-Canon buys Dutch Oce for $1.1 bln, fights Ricoh
So, will KM enter a better bid?? Read below: Océ may terminate the conditional agreement with Canon in the event that a bona fide third party makes an offer which is, in the reasonable opinion of Océ’s Management Board and Supervisory Boards, superior to the Offer. An alternative offer shall only be regarded as superior in the event its bid price exceeds the Offer price by 10%, or in the event of a consecutive bid by 5%. Canon has a right to match a superior offer. In the event the...

Go this via email today: Canon intends to make an offer of € 8.60 per Share for 100% of the outstanding Shares of Océ, representing a premium of 70% over Océ's stock price. There does not appear to be opposition to the deal either from European regulators or Océ board members. Océ will remain a separate legal entity as a Canon division, headquartered in Venlo (the Netherlands). The Océ brand is to be maintained and applied in all relevant markets. Océ will continue to lead its R&D and...

William Mitting, printweek.com, 23 November 2009 Shares in press manufacturer Océ are trading at a slight premium to the 8.60 euro a share offer from Canon, indicating the market anticipates Canon may be forced to raise its bid. Last week, Orbis, a 10% shareholder in Océ said that it believed the bid "significantly undervalued" Océ, despite a general impression that the bid was a strong one in order to deter a counter bid from Konica Minolta. Canon requires acceptance from 85% of its...

Re: Canon Merges Océ India Subsidiary
I am one of those. I'd be shocked if Canon continues the Océ name in the US. I have represented Océ products for over 17 years and while I can say without a doubt they are some of the best machines made, I've never had a customer choose the "Océ" name over others. To clarify, they choose the Océ PRODUCT, but not the name. I imagine most dedicated Océ customers would be thrilled to buy the product from a Canon direct outlet. Reasons people don't like Océ: They can't spell it and they can't...

Re: OCE 7050, Can anyone help?
Most modern Océ meters read in Square feet. However, the older analog ones measured in linear feet. I'm not sure which one the 7050 does. I went to a Océ TDS400 just last week that the customer has had for 2 years and their meter was 8,000 Square feet, maybe they just haven't put much volume on their 7050.

Re: OCE 7050, Can anyone help?
I am told we pay $203 dealer cost per carton (each contains 2 bottles) for all Océ toner. From an Océ Authorized WFPS Reseller's Reference Manual, Consumables Target Yield: On the 705x copiers Each bottle is rated for 11,500 sf - say 3,833 LF of 36"paper -at 5% coverage. Developer is 50,000 LF, wire/blade/drum are 65,000 LF. Don't have any prices on the PM kit as yet.
