Re: Ricoh & Epson = "perfect together" NOT!
We don't sell the Epson, I do hear that many Ricoh wide format dealers are looking to change. The W3602 is due out something this spring, Ricoh is waiting to exhaust inventories on the W3601. I have not sold a W3601 yet this year and believe I only sold a handful last year, I used to sell at least a dozen a year. The W3602 will have the GUI as the color systems and many of the same features, sad but the GUI and the MFP features will still put us way behind with the likes of KIP & Oce

Re: A Few Copier Vignettes from the Late Eighties & Nineties
Art, You and I are from similar professional backgrounds and times. We started in 1980 selling Sharp and Juki typewriters. Everything sold near MSRP. Then the fax boom came and we caught that wave perfectly. We sold Ricoh thermal faxes for full list ($2995.00). The only issue was cash flow; we sold them faster than we could order and purchase them. Copier Maintenance agreements went from .022 up to .035 and did not include drums, developer, toner, fuser rollers or lamps! Also, like your...

Re: Questions
I would like to hear from anyone that has some insight on the new Bizhub color production 80 PPM system. I heard from a customer that they were shown this unit in a "behind the scenes" preview at Print 09 and that KM would be launching it this spring. From what I gathered, they beefed up the g/m² , changed the feeding mechanism, tighter registration and would share the accessories as the b/w 1200 unit. Very curious to see where it is positioned relative to Ricoh's production products.

watch out for CHINA, no other country has anywhere near the population, nor the revenues that China is accumulating. the next war may not be a war of the military but a war of crippling a nations economy and stealing data/secrets/intellectual property. I suggest asking your technical department. Glossy paper is not recommended for the Ricoh products. Try using a silk paper it works great. This tip came from a printer friend of mine which uses the Ricoh's in a pay for print environment.

If the shreads get caught in that area, the toner can get backed up and cause all kind$ of problem$. I lost a drum, cleaning blade and waste toner screw because of this on a new machine with only 7000 Linear feet on it.
