Re: Ricoh & Epson = "perfect together" NOT!

The Epson argument has been going on for years. I brought one product in as a complement product and direct print production sales fought for Epson devices as part of the portfolio. I wouldn't allow it. However, with Vellek in charge of all product marketing, a lot changed. Overall profitability on Epson to Ricoh is about 7-9%. Plus there is no way to lock a customer into a toner inclusive deal when they could by it anywhere on the web. Losing proposition for Ricoh, winning for Epson. I ran...

The Eco-MFP can erase pages at 17.5 sheets per minute.

Yes, but the auto dealers had great political clout in the 20's/30's when the industry was new. The manufacturers were distracted with growth and labor problems and failed to defend the consumers or themselves. The dealers were the "home team" in each market and were able to lock up the state legislatures, and (permanently?) keep the extra layer of markup in the business, preventing it from logically rationalizing to a direct model. MFP market is not even an rounding error by comparison, the...

On all Toshiba copiers for the last five plus years, the technician can quickly enable a service code to double click thick, special, Legal, Letter-R and ledger size paper. The copier has no ability to auto detect if there is thick paper in the bypass. In Toshiba terms, what thick actually means is that the paper passes a little slower...
