Ricoh makes the SP C842DN and it's a beast. Works day in day out with little service intervention. Here's the link https://www.ricoh-usa.com/en/p...r-printer/_/R-408106 Sharp or Brother does not offer a stand alone 11x17 printer?

It has to be laser and heavy duty like that Ricoh you’re talking about. Brother has inkjet and Sharp has small stuff. They are expanding the department so volumes will go up. So it has to be heavy duty

So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

All good points. Yes, the weather is different today than yesterday. And we can extrapolate that to 100 years ago and 100 years from now. Human activity? Oh, our ego's would drive us to think we make a SIGNIFICANT impact. And science is asleep, replaced with faith labelled as "consensus". But I don't think many people who have seen a forest fire or volcano actually BELIEVE we impact the climate much more than the proverbial butterfly wings. Go this via email today: Canon intends to make an offer of € 8.60 per Share for 100% of the outstanding Shares of Océ, representing a premium of 70% over Océ's stock price. There does not appear to be opposition to the deal either from European regulators or Océ board members. Océ will remain a separate legal entity as a Canon division, headquartered in Venlo (the Netherlands). The Océ brand is to be maintained and applied in all relevant markets. Océ will continue to lead its R&D and...

I tend to agree with the notion that Imagistics won't change much on the short term. They will have Canon added to their mix but the Oce's will still be there. This acquisition isn't like buying a Global or an IKON. Canon acquired a manufacturer with it's own manufacturing and R&D. Over time the lines will be blurred but not for several years.

However 9 times our of 10 those features although are very cool will never be used. These units are a tough sell compared to the previous MX color series. Panasonic has been out of the industry for about 3-4 years now. There is no parts or R&D from them. There are only 3 distributors in the US...one on the west, east and midwest. All of their support people have taken other jobs with the distributors or in other areas. It was very frustrating dealing with the middle man because many times they did not know the answers and there was no other resources. No R&D dollars here...Same as previous series. Same consumables, no standard keyboard and a 600MHz processor vs. the 1250MHz processor in previous series (2610, 3310, 3610) End of Lease feature was also present on previous series. Kill the keyboard, slower processor, reduce the price. Sounds more like marketing than R&D.

Ah........, the long awaited SERI printer. This devices wroks in tandem with any of Ricoh's Digital Duplicators. It actually allows duplicators to print onto alternative media, such as "Tyvek", "Coated Stock" and other stock where the ink was not drying. The SERI dries the ink by passing the paper and ink from the duplicator under a UV light. This process also allows Ricoh to now release "transparent inks", meaning CMYK printing can be accomplished.
