John, The PrintCopy Tool compares pretty favorably to Plotworks. I attached two documents to this post. The Product Support Guide lists differences between the two products. The PowerPoint has screen shots of all the settings in PrintCopy Tool. I hope this helps.

I looked up your profile after JasonR's reply. Sorry for not remembering that "John" was you. I know it's your name but there are a lot of John's out there. Even if you eliminate all the John's that Dear John letters go to and all the outhouses by that name, that still leaves quite a few. Anyway, isn't it impossible to be able to print anything but PDF's from a thumb drive if it isn't plugged into a device with the software resident? For instance, how can an MFP print an Excel File without...

Take it from me. I've got a "selling manager" and he's a good sales person and a good manager, however I'm a firm beleiver that you can't do two things at once and excel with both of them. I'm the only tenured rep on my team. I still have many questions after being in the business for 31 years, such as policy, pricing, ordering, and many others and most of my needs and wants are more complex than the "newbies", thus I find myself taking a back seat waiting for information or direction longer...

Canon's Cloud Portal - MEAP App allows you to connect a Canon ImageRUNNER-Advance to either GoogleDocs or MS Sharepoint Online. The last time I checked a Terabyte of storage was ~ $250/year, which is pretty darn cheap. This allows you to Scan directly to GoogleDocs and Print Directly from GoogleDocs. You can even print MS Word, Excel, & Powerpoint docs that are stored on...

Attached is a useful Excel tool, that service departments will stand behind, no matter what marketing indicates. On the 60/75 engines, they are only spec'd to run up to 34lb bond through trays 1-3, and 43lb bond through the bypass. 43lb bond does not even equate to 110 index, as marketed, only 90lb index (just). Could the number have been 5574 rather than 5447? The reason I ask is 24x36 is 5574 sq. centimeters. Try this formula while in excel: =((cell ref.*.394)*40%) This gives you one dimension =((cell ref.*.394)*60%) gives you the other dimension. Example (5574*.394)*40%) = 24 inches ((5574*.394)*60%) = 36 inches To convert centimeters to inches multiply by .394 24 and 36 are 40% and 60% respectively of a whole.

I agree, without sales, service would be unemployed in 3 to 5 years. And yes, sales profit is at a minimum. However, if all MA the profit went the sales department where would service get its revenue from? The “billable dollars” would not be enough to support the salaries of the service employs. We’re robbing Peter, to pay Paul. Some sales people sale boxes for profit, and if the dollar amount (in the pocket) is not there, they walk away to minimize their wasted time. Ricoh MFPs use 2 bit depth technology with 4 shades per color, vs. Konica's 8 bit depth with 256 shades per color. The Konica color engine (which came from the Minolta side, noted for their color technology) handles color better because it is built to. (What I see when I look at print samples of the same photo: the Konica color looks crisper and more "full bodied"; the Ricoh color looks blotchier and pixelated.) If you have a exacting graphics or marketing client, you can't just skate by.

We’ve used FM Audit at several locations to capture monthly print volume. I used it under ITs’ supervision of course. It’s a very useful tool. It won’t capture printers connected directly to PCs but, most of them are very low volume anyway. As for cost analysis, you can export to excel and plug in the cost per page for each model printer. Giving you the monthly or yearly cost. A very good tool for sales and cost justification.

All you have to do is look at the competitive analysis (See Attached) between the Ricoh C4503 and C6502 against the competitors from Canon, Xerox, and KM to see how much of a difference True Adobe PostScript makes in the printing speed. Emulation machines are noticeably slower, to the point that you could argue that a lesser Ricoh needs to be proposed in order to compare accurately.

Re: To Ricoh "What I Want for Christmas"

txeagle24 ·
The best thing Ricoh could give us is advanced scanning functionality as a standard feature. To be able to navigate to whatever network folder a user wants would be huge, as would the ability to scan to Word or Excel. Canon already has these features, so we are at a huge price disadvantage if it is functionality a customer needs since we have to add ICE (which has a less-than-desirable UI) or NSI AutoStore.
