Top three points I make when against Kyocera. #1. Take them color samples from your device and any Kyocera because the color output is sub par on all units. If you don’t have access to one look in your crm for an account you co-exist with Kyocera in. Or the next time you have a knock out make some samples and keep them in a binder. If color quality is important to the customer it will be a win. Another point is showing them you get what you pay for, meaning 3 tier color is what they have...

Copystar/Kyocera 7052ci and 8052ci are still current models as the 7353ci and 8353ci were just released. same goes the the 70/80ppm mono's. not sure when they will get discontinued but we can still order them as of today.

John, The PrintCopy Tool compares pretty favorably to Plotworks. I attached two documents to this post. The Product Support Guide lists differences between the two products. The PowerPoint has screen shots of all the settings in PrintCopy Tool. I hope this helps.

Yes I have sold a couple of these. For the price these are fantastic. My service manager is impressed which is hard to do. Dual side scanning is a definite selling point. The cost per page is going to be higher of course. I would say in the .015 black and white and .11 color to be safe (depending on your market of course). Not as good as say the 6535 per say but the machine is less than half the cost. If the run more than a couple thousand a month I would move them up to the 6535cidn. Let me...

Did Panasonic make their A3 MFPs for anyone else? Were they ever sold under a non-Panasonic label? The color units have a "Fuji" look to them and earlier A3 color units were also sold as Xerox WorkCenters and were from Fuji.

We sold two copiers recently to a Window & Door Manufacturer. One of the copiers had 4k clicks on it in less than a week so we thought we would have a good revenue stream. I have been thinking about these Label printers so I asked the client about how they use the ones that they already have. I was floored when the client told me that they plan to spend $100k this year on labels alone.

Canon has Canon Financial Services - which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon. This is a true captive program with Canon financial servicing the majority of the leases they originate Ricoh - Most of Ricoh's leases are sold to 3rd party leasing companies (GE, DLL, CIT, Wells) on a private label basis. I think the local dealers biggest advantage against the National vendors is flexibility. Dealers naturally have much shorter chains of command due to having far less employees. Therefore, dealers can make quicker decisions. The National Vendors are always going to have the advantage of price and a lesser concern for profitability. I don't think there is a way to do this. I remember thinking it was possible and then having to print all of the files off the old machine & scan/label them for the customer. It was a doctor's office that stored all of their paperwork in their Document Server. Biggest beating ever!

Art, The Brochure saya 14 - 80lb cover (52 - 220g/m2) in the draws (which means you can duplex them automatically. And up to 300g/m2 in the Bypass which means it would require a manual (flip) to duplex them.I prefer to go by the g/m2 off of the paper packages label because 100 lb Index is much lighter than 100 lb cover. This seems to be a pretty good box but I have seen some problems. First of all if you have the Muratec machine, make sure you don't forget to put the Muratec sticker over the Samsung label!!! LOL One pain in the ass thing is having to tell the machine what size paper is in the tray whenever you refill the tray or load the bypass. We have a half dozen or so in the field, no complaints here, I did watch a customer send a print job of a 100 page booklet and there was no pause. Is this just happening with copies? If so, it could be a memory issue. The machine that I spoke about had the memory upgrade installed before we put it in the field. That may be the issue. Let me know what you come up with.

The trouble with using user tools, is that it's a resettable counter, and thus would not be good to use, as it can be reset! Tech Sp mode under CopyData keeps ongoing, but is not customer accessible. Mechanical counters are inside front cover, to the left of the drum, covered by a plastic label type thing. Suggest that that label is pulled off on set-up, to allow counter readings. Cheers.

Attached you will find the SAP Printer Vendor Program document. You will see that Oce', KonicaMinolta, Sharp, and Kyocera are on it and Ricoh is not. Ricoh's response is "There is no reason to believe that any Ricoh will not work with SAP but at the present time, there are no plans to spend the money necessary to become SAP certified." SO, the way the Hotspot printers work (as I understand it) is, you plug them in and give them internet access and there is a label on the front with the printers email address. You email your document to the printer and it prints. You can optionally require that the submitter pay a fee via credit card (provider takes a cut of that)before it prints. So, the service fees for this would cover the email address, not an IP as the printer is sitting on your network, presumably behind firewalls, etc.

I would focus on the cost per page first. Find out of the customer is going to take a maintenance agreement. You may have win there. If no maintenance agreement is needed I would then focus on the consumables costs of the A4 device. There is friction feed with air separation on all the current production machines. So they have rollers that actually feed the paper and there are fans that blow the paper apart to help prevent multifeeding and it also helps if the paper sticks together and won't pull out of the tray.

First is this your actual reply to the account looking at thoseToshiba products listed (455 & 305)? If yes and they have a great history with the Toshiba product, telling them there a "bottom dweller" would make anyone think that you're only wanting to sell them what YOU'RE offering. The models they requested are older models of Toshiba and who knows if they've worked well for them or not. Also if you research the Okidata product, most of their MFP's are based on the Toshiba platform now...

FYI: Toshiba, overall, is in the top ten for R&D Spend-to-Sales ratios. "Bottom dweller" really is not a fair use of words. With any device manufacturer, product is only as good as its dealer support. Get references if need be. RE: maintenance; The asker is talking B&W devices not color. Regardless, get the maintenance. Fewer spikes in copy quality or hardware issues because you'll make that phone call to fix rather than putting up with poor copy quality, etc. for fear of how much it...

Just an FYI, I had the chance to inspect a previous model of one of these types of systems. I pulled out the paper drawer and I then realized that the cover of the paper drawer (which is plastic) had the feel of the same plastic that is used for garbage cans. Just my opinion and to me it doesn't bode well for the rest of the parts.

Another thing all of these new machines including the 6502 and 8100 have is an insanely fast ADF, 120 sheets per minute or 240 images per minute duplex. Everyone that sees these comments how fast the ADF is.

same here, equally as impressive is that it will scan to USB just as fast. Customer wanted to take the scanned files back to the office after the demo to make sure they were searchable and check the quality
