What Veterans Day Means to Me
I guess first and foremost I remember those of my family that honored the call of their country. My father, that was stationed in the South Pacific during WWII, and my grandfather that served during WWI. Then most recently my son that served in the Army National Guard. I also remember meeting many other Veterans that had served in Vietnam as I entered the workforce after High School. I understand that our country could not be what is today with out the sacrifices of all who have served in...

OEM new sales VS refurbished/2nd hand/used sales
P4Pers, just wondering if the OEM obsessions with ONLY new sales figures is replicated across the globe? in OZ the overwhelming and only interest is in the 10% of kit we are pushing out that's new while the 90% of second hand devices are all but ignored. Out of interest is that the same in Nth America?, Europe?, South America and so on? Interested to know if universal ignorance about the value of the 2nd hand devices is widespread! Thanks.

Re: OEM new sales VS refurbished/2nd hand/used sales
@AC68 LOL, yes the universal ignorance of 2nd hand devices is equally wide spread! A recent comment stated that new A4 devices are now a 12 week wait here in the US. Not sure what they are waiting for, I would by every decent A4 I could get my hands on right now.

Re: OEM new sales VS refurbished/2nd hand/used sales
Unfortunately right now the used market doesn't seem great. I assume because of the inability to get new equipment, other dealers are having to offer some used options and inventory from wholesalers is low and expensive.

Re: OEM new sales VS refurbished/2nd hand/used sales
Canon has a 2nd hand inventory list they send weekly for dealers to purchase. The list used to always have about 60-80 machines on the list. The past couple weeks it's dwindled down to less than 20. With the backorders, I think a lot of dealers are picking these up to offer for sale or as loaner machines until orders are released.

Re: OEM new sales VS refurbished/2nd hand/used sales
Even before the pandemic we were dong a healthy pre-owned business both wholesale and retail. May be doing a lot more of it moving forward if equipment doesn't start showing up. Leading with pre-owned right now in many situations where just a few months ago I would have never even brought up pre-owned to the customer.

1. Integrate AI into connected copiers. From Bing Chat: "AI can be used to improve copiers in several ways. For example, AI can be used to optimize the printing process by analyzing the content of the document and adjusting the printer settings accordingly. This can help reduce the amount of ink or toner used, which can save money and reduce waste. AI can also be used to detect and correct errors in the printing process, such as smudging or misalignment. Additionally, AI can be used to...
