Re: Will outside Sales Rep's go away?

Interesting thoughts, Thank you p4p. I have sold Canon for 20+ years. Many years ago they listed the imageClass line (MFP's under 2,500 dollars) and the entire scanning line and Wide Format line. As such I stopped selling those products as I have always been compensated on hardware gross profit and there was none. Todays buyer is much different and has already done homework before I even get to speak with them. The mfr uniqueness has been commoditized and they all provide the #1 buying...

Re: Nsi Autostore

jswinberlin ·
Personally, I have not been successful in selling Auto Store so I'm probably not much help. However, I would ask why it would be necessary to bundle these things. If I was fortunate enough to be in a situation where the customer sees the value of the software and this criteria is necessary, I would propose a basic workflow and 3rd party DMS integration and Sharepoint integration would be professional services at a billable rate or discounted block of time.

Art, this is a serious issue. This is no different than hard drives in our computers, laptops, netbooks or anything that uses a HD. They are all storing electronic digital magnetic information. Those that have encryption are not safe if you know what you are doing. These encrypted containers can easily be tapped and opened. Re: Feedback on Canon C2020/2030 Models

montecore ·
Those are great little units in the segment 1 & 2. They are a hot commodity based on a few criteria that separate them from the 5000 series. Mostly the difference are in the RADF, 1st tray and media weights. Qualifying the needs are very important. There is a few grand price difference from these to the 5000 series as well. Hope this helps.

If the only criteria is "who can get the US back on track financially", I would vote for Romney. His financial background would be valuable in understanding how to fix things. I would like to see him team up as VP with whoever gets the nomination. He could spear head the financial reforms needed to get things going in the right direction. Questions is, whould he be willing to accept the invitation as a VP?

Re: Got A Situation! What would ou do?

Joe....can you get access to Canon? They make a very affordable 3200 series box. That comes in 25, 35 and 45ppm versions. Depending on your customers scanning needs and if PCL or PS is needed. Look for the "i" model. Like a 3235i or the 3245i. You can also get the non "i" model as well. What are the criteria that you customer is looking for? I think your customer would appreciate that he now has Canon the leader in the industry. You will not do your customer wrong with a Canon.

Let me ask everyone...with respect to the title of this thread "Image Quality not the main criteria in an MFP purchase". Lately I'll mention the scan speed of the device before I mention the speed of the device. I'm finding more and more prospects are more concerned about speed of the scanner, and secondary features such as scan2pdf, scan2folder, scan2word, scan2excel, blank page detection, and drop out color. Thoughts?

I think that's true no matter what tax plan we are on, so it might as well be a fair one to begin with As far as the poor paying more, if there's no tax on rent, utilities food or medicine, they shouldn't be paying much. I also believe there is a refund procedure in Europe where you can turn in your tax receipts and get what you paid in taxes returned to you if you meet certain criteria. I've also considered no tax on clothes, but I guess there would need to be some delineation between...

You are leaving the fox to watch the henhouse if you give reps any say on what leasing company you use. You also deserve whatever you get if low rates are your criteria. Low rates mean one thing..."alternative forms of revenue." Leasing companies are going to get their money in other ways. P4Photel is sponsored by a leasing company that won't compete for your business, won't charge for insurance, property tax, or Doc Fees, has a month-to-month renewal, has an early termination that is...

So I tried them out from October until January and Jason was right on the money. For the first month two months the quality of leads were semi-decent, $27.00 per lead, won two (although couldn't get them lease approved) They had a minimum dollar thresh hold of $1K for hardware and for some reason removed it from their criteria in December. It went from legitimate A3 and small A4 to people looking for, at best, a $300 Staples printer, price shopping Costco for home office and used equipment.

Great Article! Of course I am a bit biased... I'm not sure if the reader who commented is familiar with the standard rules available in Print Audit 6/PCS Director. They exist under the Printer Profiles section and can be implemented across the board with a click of the mouse. These basic rules address color usage, duplex print as well as limits on pages of print. By definition the basic rules apply across to board to all printing (subject to that Printer Profile). These rules are also MUCH...

I agree with dr print. I always ask who my competition is and I know them well enough now to ask which rep it is. I've found lately with one company the owner has been traveling on appointments with a new rep. I've been using this to our advantage as the owner of that company is quiet an aged fellow that knows little about our industry anymore. Find out who your competition is and if that company is listed, ask how they came about selecting them (since you mentioned the incumbent is out).
