Over my 15 years as a Sales Manager to 23+ independent dealers, I have seen many situations where dealers simply has far too simplistic service contracts that had not been updated ever. They mostly involve billable Pro Services, unstable Power Supply, two competitive vendors trying to flip each other's Service Contracts and Fuel Surcharges. (I have a large geographic territory with lots of driving.) I once sold two connected copiers to a law firm. They decided to upgrade from Novell 5.0 to...

Art, The Brochure saya 14 - 80lb cover (52 - 220g/m2) in the draws (which means you can duplex them automatically. And up to 300g/m2 in the Bypass which means it would require a manual (flip) to duplex them.I prefer to go by the g/m2 off of the paper packages label because 100 lb Index is much lighter than 100 lb cover. Re: Single click for 11 X 17

Gregory (Guest) ·
Well, there are a couple of ways to look at it. The fact of the matter is, the Canon dealer probably doesn't have a very good handle on the situation. And if the client is running a high percentage of 11x17, then they are going to lose out in service and supplies. We charge 2 clicks for 11x17. And, although I may lose a deal every now and then, by not being close enough to make a difference, we aren't going to lose our pants on mismanaging service. Your service manager is being sensible, you...

In speaking with a GE Rep today they are raising rates this high because they are limited on cash. They are hoping these rates will direct people to other sources. Strong hunch GE sells off the leasing division soon.

Best of luck to Xerox - ComDoc in attempting to flip the Ricoh base to Xerox machines. Ricoh will take away financial support from Dealers to support IKON and RBS with winning the business, which has been the long-term strategy. The ComDoc situation has only accelerated the need to support IKON and RBS and move away from Independent Dealers. Checked out the new Xerox at a customer's site and this is what I found: Meter reading displays separate meter read for each roll. Need to slide doc feed forward and actually lift off the machine to clear jam in doc feed area. Originals are right justified to scan or copy versus centering like the 240W. To make copy, you need to use touch screen panel to select "Synchro". If you don't select, you will get a copy that is a standard size with lots of blank paper around the image. Scan to...

We put a very small monthly minimum on our service contracts. Typically $15 worth of B/W and $15 worth of color. You'd be amazed how hung up some customers get on the minimum. Trying to explain that the minimum is only in play if they barely used their machine is like banging your head against a wall. On the flip side some customers get so hung up on overages that they'd feel happier if you overcharged them and gave them a fixed monthly bill. Just so they never see an OVERAGE on the bill.

Hey Greg, Absolutely. My only rebuttal is that the word content is so subjective. Do you write lengthy, 1000+ word articles, or do you focus on writing shorter articles you can post 2-3 times per day? For SEO purposes, either can boost your ranking in Google. The golden rule of SEO is that Google rewards good, original content. Black hat SEO will boost your rankings in the short term, but eventually Google's algorithms will catch on and punish your ranking. On the flip side of content,...
