Not very much, just what I'd read from press releases and such, and discussions with a couple of customers who use the Papercut NG product. From that, my impression of the product was that it was not as full-featured as some of our other cost accounting solutions, but as long as the customer did not need those "other" features, they were very happy using Papercut.

Both Canon and Xerox press releases seem to point towards future wide format devices using Memjet technology. I thought Xerox was getting out of the wide format market? All of this new activity cannot be good news for KIP when these products are actually ready for disribution. Toshiba seems to be the only vendor talking about Memjet technology in a MFP.

I don't think there is a way to do this. I remember thinking it was possible and then having to print all of the files off the old machine & scan/label them for the customer. It was a doctor's office that stored all of their paperwork in their Document Server. Biggest beating ever!

Jon: Nice, very nice, I would tend to think that if it increases your business that it would be ok, however there will be those owners that will object because you are branding yourself and if you leave maybe so do your accounts. However in some cases I believe that if your company is not providing the marketing tools, leads, etc, then you need to do whatever can increase your sales. Nice job, did you use word press for this? So, I we installed the SP431DN with four paper trays the other day. I was there on Friday to set up the paper trays, configure the printer setting and test the system. We did a run of 2,500 envelopes with an MS word merge for addressing. We finished the job in 75 minutes with no wrinkles, we did have several misfeeds, however I'm blaming that on me not knowing how many envelopes to put in each tray. We not able to fit and entire box pf 500 however we were able to fit about 250-300 at a time.

Found out today, that Assurant does cover floods, I actually got a document from them about their services and I'll post it here later. Seems like most BOP policies will not cover floods, and Assurant will. However this leads to another issue, when leasing companies ask for "proof of insurance" and get a copy of the rider, do they not check to see if their equipment is covered in case of flood? If they miss this and do not charge for insurance is it then their loss and not the lessee? Some...

I'm in the same boat. I now think that taking the leasing company's insurance is the best option for the customer. My customers with leasing company coverage have had a delay of a few weeks but next week I will deliver the first unit that was covered. Took a while but its a done deal. Another customer with their own insurance immediately got new gear right away. They were dead in the water without equipment so they did a new lease. Art, The Brochure saya 14 - 80lb cover (52 - 220g/m2) in the draws (which means you can duplex them automatically. And up to 300g/m2 in the Bypass which means it would require a manual (flip) to duplex them.I prefer to go by the g/m2 off of the paper packages label because 100 lb Index is much lighter than 100 lb cover. The Erasure unit has essentially a dual head scanner built into the top of it. A user may press some buttons on the control panel of the eraser unit to simply erase the page's contents or scan the page's contents to a network location before the information is erased from the page. This is not a security feature, it is more of a convenience feature.

We have a 40-system install of Global Scan and the need for training is minimal for the Ricoh reps and the end-user. I have a customer who uses ScanRT Light and emails from a 1224c S/P. You can do both. you set which ever one is used most as default and then press the little magnifying glass to get to the other. Should work on all scan to email machines. (2035/45 1060/75 ect.) JG

Correct. B2C means "Black to Color." This term was created about 5 years ago to designate the "next big thing" in the industry, which was the move from black & white output to color output in the office. Sort of along the lines of "A-to-D" for the Analog to Digital transition. I think the results of the last few years are proof that this revolution has happened (and is still happening). This seems to be a pretty good box but I have seen some problems. First of all if you have the Muratec machine, make sure you don't forget to put the Muratec sticker over the Samsung label!!! LOL One pain in the ass thing is having to tell the machine what size paper is in the tray whenever you refill the tray or load the bypass. I can understand and accept having to set the bypass size but not the main trays!!! Kinda stooooopid if you ask me. Also you can't recieve faxes in 11" and 14". You...

We have a half dozen or so in the field, no complaints here, I did watch a customer send a print job of a 100 page booklet and there was no pause. Is this just happening with copies? If so, it could be a memory issue. The machine that I spoke about had the memory upgrade installed before we put it in the field. That may be the issue. Let me know what you come up with.
