Would You Be Interested in Making a $90K Commission for Selling One Imaging Device?
I'm raising my hand, can you see it! I'm interested! One of the main reasons that I'm still in sales is that I still have the desire to write my own pay check. Unexpected expense, no problem, just grind the gears a little harder and a little longer and you can make the cash that you need. I'm sure that's the same for many of my peers that are in the copier business. Twenty or so years ago, I had visions of grandeur that maybe just maybe one day I might be selling a really high end product...

A Sheet of Paper More Expensive Than Cost Per Copy?
I had to find away to not sell my client another copier aka MFP. That client told me they thought they were printing too much volume on the A4 MFP they purchased 3 years ago. In fact I agreed when the meter on the copier gave up the ghost for the quarter of a million pages they produced. During the last 12 months the annual volume had to increased to 90K. Re: A Sheet of Paper More Expensive Than Cost Per Copy?
So your article made me curious to check out Staples pricing on paper. I have been lax on checking on Canadian paper costs for quite awhile. A case of 5,000 20 lb sheets cost anywhere from $69.00 on sale to $75.00 to $110.00 and higher. Amazon Basics paper cost about the same. I clearly remember the last time I checked paper was $55.00 everyday. This price assumes you drive to the store and pick it up with all of the travel and labour costs that involve. $69.00/ 5,000 = $0.0138 + 15 %...

Re: A Sheet of Paper More Expensive Than Cost Per Copy?
So talking to a big Canadian Stationer today, there is still a big shortage of paper from both Canadian and US papermills. Almost all customers are on allocation and to try and find a sale on paper in stock is rare. Most retailers are only offering MSRP and will not sell you more than 3 cases of paper (15,000 sheets). All production print business owners are scrambling to buy paper. Even Costco, who was willing to pay any price to get paper has been out of stock for months.
