Hi kbbyrum! I'm not really "certified" to work on Sharp equipment but from what I understand their Service Mode is called "Simulation Mode". To get into Simulation Mode you'll want to do the following: 1) Copy mode key ON → Program key ON → Asterisk (*) key ON → CLEAR key ON → Asterisk (*) key ON → Ready for input of a main code of simulation 2) Entering a main code with the 10-key → START key ON 3) Entering a sub code with the 10-key → START key ON 4) Select an item with the scroll key and...

Re: Samsung Says Offer for Sharp’s Photocopier Unit Rejected
Yoda: Here is that release, still tough times for Sharp. After failing to advance far enough toward a manufacturing process goal, Sharp says that it will miss a March 29 deadline to receive the second half of a $120 million investment from chipmaker Qualcomm. In December, the ailing Japanese electronics maker said it reached a partnership with U.S.-based Qualcomm, which agreed to invest $120 million in a project to jointly develop display panels. However, as reported by Reuters, Qualcomm's...

Re: Sharp "What will Happen"
Midsmanuk, Who would want to buy an unprofitable division? And what value would it bring? Certainly not enough to pay off Sharps massive debts. I don't believe anyone thinks that Sharp wants to sell their profitable copier division, but when their debtors say "pay up, now!" their choices will be pretty limited. MY money is on Samsung buying sharp. They have the deepest pockets, and have already made the first offer. I think Sharp will be in a more receptive mood once the Creditors begin to...

From: JasonR Sent: 10/11/2002 7:32 AM Remember that even Ricoh is saying that the 3850 is BUSINESS color, as such there is no way this machine can be used for "real" proofing. A lot of people throw around the word proofing when they mean "prints we can do before we show this to the customer" or "prints shown to the customer with an understanding this isn't a "press proof". I'm glad to hear the 3850 output looks good, and for "camera ready art" while it isn't the machine I would pick, I'm...

It actually allows duplicators to print onto alternative media, such as "Tyvek", "Coated Stock" and other stock where the ink was not drying. The SERI dries the ink by passing the paper and ink from the duplicator under a UV light. This process also allows Ricoh to now release "transparent inks", meaning CMYK printing can be accomplished. Re: B2C defined
Correct. B2C means "Black to Color." This term was created about 5 years ago to designate the "next big thing" in the industry, which was the move from black & white output to color output in the office. Sort of along the lines of "A-to-D" for the Analog to Digital transition. I think the results of the last few years are proof that this revolution has happened (and is still happening). And to re-iterate what Eddie 2 Times said, Ricoh color MFPs can be used in a B2C environment...

If I may be so bold, I truly believe that the head honchos have no clue what's going on in the street, plus even if they did they have no way of stopping it. They need the boxes placed in order to keep the factories running, more boxes placed equals more supply clicks. They just don't care,...

We use Printfleet, and it works well for us. The one issue I have with this press release is it saying it "detects" locally connected printers. What it doesn't mention is that that's all it can do, is "detect" those. It can't pull volume or errors or supply status. It's a good thing that it can find it, but it's pretty limited in what it can do once it finds them.
