John, The PrintCopy Tool compares pretty favorably to Plotworks. I attached two documents to this post. The Product Support Guide lists differences between the two products. The PowerPoint has screen shots of all the settings in PrintCopy Tool. I hope this helps.

Re: MPS and Linux HELP!

So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

Sounds like the document you're trying to edit has had security applied to prevent changes. In ecopy, click on File/File Properties, and click on the Security tab. That will tell you what the creator of the pdf will allow you to do with the file.

Re: 0% Copier Financing

A lot of confusion around this topic. The leasing companies have a beat-down coming if they continue to falsely promote their FMV promo rates as "0% leases". Example, a recent manufacturer promo offered "0% FMV Lease!" for 36 months. But the lease rate for a 36 month deal was .027777. On a $10,000 machine, the payment was $277.77. The sum of 36 payments, $9,999.72 ($10,000). Problem? The machine still belongs to the lessor. Assuming that the residual value was 15% ($1,500), plug the...

Why not store this as one whole document. I understand that certain sections need to be updated, but ... The 2090 Document Server has the Editor capability. With this feature you can select ranges of pages to be deleted and then simply added by scanning in the new updated pages. Plus once you enter the settings for this entire job, they are kept, regardless of how you delete and add pages. But perhaps the greatest way to impact their productivity work flow would be to connect this system.

Re: model space or paper space from AutoCAD.

v-tec ·
Tell your prissy eng it's an AutoCAD function and he should learn his software!!! AutoCAD switches from model space to paper space when you are working on a layout tab. On the layout tab, use paper space to create a finished layout of a drawing for printing. As part of designing your layout, you create layout viewports, which are windows containing different views of the model. By switching from paper space to model space (see MSPACE), you can edit the model and views within the current...

Yes, we sell PlanetPress too. I prefer to place that in more high-volume, transactional situations or where more robust output (fax/e-mail/archive) is required. PrintShop Mail in my opinion is the better choice for promotional marketing; I find it more nimble than PlanetPress's design tool. Now that Objectif Lune owns both, they are doing a little bit of positioning and differentiation. There is an offering summary comparing the two at http://www.objectiflune.com/resellers/us/resources.htm .

Re: Question to Print Audit on PA Forum

Hi Art, Unfortunately, this is a known limitation of Print Audit 5. Plot Client WIN (and other similar plot-submission tools) bypass the Windows print drivers when they generate multiple copies the file you are plotting. As a result, Print Audit 5 can only detect the first copy being generated, and will only report that one page was printed. While there is currently no way to have Print Audit automatically track the number of plots being generated, there are a couple of workarounds that you...

I agree we have the best product! Hope the account is not Xerox incumbent. I lost to a 6204 about six weeks ago, I tried by best to point out the differences however what I did not do is have the customer agree that he needs the Features, Advantage and Benefits of the 240W. After Monster Garage I have changed my tactics to have the customer agree to these points. 1. Have the customer agree that they need an external controller, not embedded. Re: Global Scan NX Server 32 Question

Art, I never did a lot with Global Scan when I was at Ricoh Business Systems \ Boston but I have done some work with OCR and large format. It is not an easy task. The amount of data that has to be processed, especially since most of the Wide Format is drawings and not text. If you can set a specific zone to OCR maybe it would work better. But at least the last time I looked at it, it didn't turn out very successful. Again, I didn't use GlobalScan, so maybe it will turn out better for you.

Hi Art, The only piece of software that I can think can do this is eCopy ShareScan. Most manufacturers are eCopy authorized, so I would talk to your dealer account manager to confirm this.

Not only employees getting screwed so are Xerox Vendors The layoffs are occurring around the country at Xerox' Global Imaging sites, so the impact is wider than just in Rochester. And now they are not paying vendors within terms, any vendor without contracted terms are being paid in 60-90 days. While at the same time Xerox is pressuring their sales teams to help collect money from their customers. Don't be fooled by John V, anyone below his reverse Robin Hood group of merry men are at risk.
