This Week in the Copier Industry 5 Years Ago (Second Week of February 2015)

Art Post ·
It's Friday night and late. Tuesday evening I traveled to Atlantic City for our annual showing of wide format copiers and white boards. Our event started Wednesday in the AM and lasted until 1PM today. I'm getting too old to put in 10 hour days on the show floor (lol). I love doing them because of the interaction with potential clients and you never know who you're going to meet. We brought the BIG 65 inch white board and it was the sizzle that we needed to catch all of those prospects. All...

There's a cool thread I did years ago about the history of the fax. We sold tons of faxes in the eighties and had a lot of fun doing it. It was not uncommon to sell multiple units along with boxes and boxes of thermal paper. There's also a cool thread about some fun that we had with selling fax machines. Enjoy these threads from ten years ago this week! Konica Minolta Rewarded for Sustainable Investment Standards With Globally Renowned Distinctions Art Post · 2/24/1510:41 PM improve our...

What is a Simple Workflow That Can Benefit Attorneys? "Part V for Print Audit LAW"

Art Post ·
About a week ago I reached out to my friends at Print Audit for some advise for a PA6  LAW installation that I was working on.  While speaking with Paul Giorgi at Print Audit, I stated that if we can automate paper based billing for copies and prints with software, then that's a workflow right?  Thus, with PA6 we would be eliminating the countless hours that are required to capture the pages, and cost the appropriate pages to the correct billing account.  In addition, we...

How a Short Conversation about Print Audit Print Rules Landed a $40K Order

Art Post ·
A few months ago, I was able to secure an appointment with a prospect on the premise that we might be able to lower their costs by reducing their copy and print overage charges from their current vendor. The overage pitch was not my idea, but was borrowed from Paul Giorgi from Print Audit . I've been using the overage pitch off an on over the last few months. During our survey, I was able to discover that the prospect has two MFP devices, one color and one black. The color unit had a speed...

The Week in Copiers Ten Years

The Week in Copiers Ten Years Ago 3rd Week in November Some may ask how will our industry grow after COVID19? There's some naysayers proclaiming that our industry is doomed and it will never be like it was. Personally I think the pandemic has allowed us to reset and rethink our industry. I believe the next 5 years will be the best we've had in 10 years. This Week in the Copier Industry 5 Years Ago Second Week of February 2017 So, I had some fun last night. I cleaned my idea with BS and it was a go for my fun. Told everyone I had an announcement, spoke about my 13 years with Stratix, the long term relationships and the new relationships with everyone. Looked at some older history and then told everyone of my announcement. I paused and wanted to show that the announcement was hard for me. Thus I told everyone Monday is my Birthday 🥳. Yes it...

This Week in Copiers Ten Years Ago Second Week of October 2013 Real Copier Sales I had scheduled the last stop of the day about a mile from my home. For almost three years I've been calling, emailing and dropping off production information for a net new account. Three years with nothing, I was beginning to think that the company set up a false DM, had an email account and voice mail account and just dumped all of the sales calls there. But low and behold, I walked in and the DM was..... read...
