Wile reading through the threads I re-read a post that I wrote about my brother fifteen years ago. It was this week fifteen years ago that he passed away. Even though we had our differences he is missed. Enjoy the threads from 15 years ago this week! Scan & Capture From the Copier 10/28/036:57 PM alike. When scans replace printouts and copies, it often translates into lower lease charges for dealers and diminished (high-margin) consumables revenue. In addition, selling and integrating...

I guess the BIG news of the week from ten years ago was ere 50 cuts that Ricoh performed that week. However, that was right after the IKON purchase and within four months (end of Japanese) there was to be major cuts with high level legacy employees. Seems to me that one of the covenants if the Ricoh purchase was that all high level Ikon peeps would replace those at Ricoh. AS Vince would say "that's my two cents". Enjoy all of the threads from ten years ago this week. Weekend Copier Notes...

There's a great thread about a P4P'er asking where they could find some information about selling to the Print4Pay Industry. Shaja makes mention of three web sites and I chimed in with a few points of my own. You can check out that thread here. Xerox Quarterly Net Falls, But Sales Rise 1/23/07 9:23 PM NEW YORK - Xerox Corp., the world's largest provider of office printers, copiers and related services, posted lower quarterly net income Tuesday, hurt by restructuring costs, but sales of its...

I couldn't help my self and re-read the two HP threads from ten years ago. Back in the day, there was a saying that buyers used to clung too, the saying went like this. If I buy the Xerox, and even if it doesn't work, no one is going to fault me for buying the Xerox over the Japanese brand. I feel this is the same with HP, even if that HP plotter, printer of copier stinks, the buyer will never hear a word from anyone for not buying the other brand. Real Copier Sales Funny Story from Jason R Back in the days before email, I had designed a spreadsheet that did a long series of very complex calculations for our remote offices. I had posted a funny story here several years ago, that I had to post again for the folks that never read it. I installed and trained an Aficio 3035 yesterday to a Sheriff's Office. One of the ladies (who is a true blonde) was asking questions on the yellow key. I instructed her that before you make copies, to press...

This Week in the Copier Industry 5 Years Ago Second Week of January 2019 Real Copier Sales I think a lot of the small operations are getting squeezed out because they didn't keep up with technology and like said, there are a lot of acquisitions. I'd say its a really good time to be a mid-sized dealer in the 5-10 million dollar range. My experience has been that the giants created by these acquisitions don't provide the level of customer service that customers will get from a mid-sized...
