Jay, We typically go after about any machine other than a Xerox. If someone wants us to service their machine and its not a complete piece of junk we will take it on and will get parts and supplies from dealers etc. until we can upgrade to one of our lines; Savin, Canon, or Samsung. We expect our reps to go out and take service agreements and we pay them the first months billing. Most don't like to mess with 30.00 agreements but they add up and eventually you find a big one. We had a rep who...

txeagle seems you may have the best answer, just quote them MSRP and we should be safe. We just went through one of these where the copier was damaged by fire and was covered under the BOP policy. The insurance company paid the stream of payments plus the residual. I'm always somewhat concerned when I have to quote a price to the customer and then that customer uses that for the value of the equipment to the leasing company. If you sell at MSRP and the equipment is leased, then you need to...

All good points. Yes, the weather is different today than yesterday. And we can extrapolate that to 100 years ago and 100 years from now. Human activity? Oh, our ego's would drive us to think we make a SIGNIFICANT impact. And science is asleep, replaced with faith labelled as "consensus". But I don't think many people who have seen a forest fire or volcano actually BELIEVE we impact the climate much more than the proverbial butterfly wings. I have seen a volcano and I have seen 100 square miles of clear-cut forest. Their impact was essentially the same. The difference was that it took the earth millions of years to make that volcano and it took 2,000 men just 3 years to cut that 100 square miles. If you really believe we can't have any effect on the environment, why do you pay for trash services? Why not just dump it at the edge or your property and let the earth's natural healing power sweep it away?

I got this from an email: Honestly nothing along the lines of a one liner come to me. However, when I was doing training on the 6755 once I botched the toner refilling process and got toner all over the room. Then as we were going to get some towels to wipe it down, I heard the maintenance guy fire up the vacuum and before I could run down the hall to stop him – the toner went straight through the filter and out the air vent … and ALL over the office. Are we on the same wave length here?? Usually a 3-5 means that service and supplies are provided for three years, after three years the customer then has to pay for service, thus raising the cost to them. ie: $100 per month for 60 months includes 3 years of supplies and service for 100K, after the third year or whenever the supplies and service expire, the rep will come back in and refi the remaining 24 months with a new 3-5, they can usually sell this at a lower price that what the customer...

You haven't earned your stripes yet, the business has seen hundreds of sales reps motivated with piss & vinegar ready to change the world and they crash and burn in the first 18 months.
