Re: Canon and Konica Minolta Reps
Depends on the need for card stock. The 75xx would be a good replacement if the card stock needs are low or time limits are not a concern. I think most smaller machines ( in the light production) move slowly while printing on stock.

Re: Things getting weird for Xerox Dealers
Very strange. I interact with the CRG on a regular basis and have had no indication of reduced staff, etc. I can’t comment on your issue with parts as we do not rely on xerox to send our parts, we stock and replenish out of our own warehouse. No substantial difference between xerox parts on b/o than Canon or HP. Not nearly as bad as Ricoh. We dropped the ricoh product years ago as we couldn’t handle the constant toner b/o issues. Parts I can somewhat understand, but toner? Hope that your...

Jason, Talk to KIP again I have never heard of KIP asking dealers to stock machines(maybe one for the demo floor). Plus KIP is releasing the new 800 series next month and these machines look like they should be good sellers. 8 full color "D"s per minute and 10K less that the Oce colorwave. We sell or have sold all the major lines of wide format, KIP, Oce, Ricoh, even going back to Xerox. All our sales reps and techs prefer the KIPs. GR

The new Pro Series Production Printers are successors to the highly successful Digital Document Publisher models, the DDP70e and the DDP92. Those models were initially brought into the Ricoh product family through the acquisition of Hitachi. Technically, the 70-ppm Digital Document Publisher 70e is being...

Go this via email today: Canon intends to make an offer of € 8.60 per Share for 100% of the outstanding Shares of Océ, representing a premium of 70% over Océ's stock price. There does not appear to be opposition to the deal either from European regulators or Océ board members. Océ will remain a separate legal entity as a Canon division, headquartered in Venlo (the Netherlands). The Océ brand is to be maintained and applied in all relevant markets. Found this on the web today:: By Pavel Alpeyev Nov. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Orbis Funds, the asset manager that opposed takeover offers by Warren Buffett and Citigroup Inc., rejected Canon Inc.’s 730 million euro ($1.1 billion) bid to buy unprofitable Dutch printer maker Oce NV as too low. Canon’s 8.60 euros-a-share offer “significantly undervalues” Oce’s assets, and Orbis doesn’t want to sell its stake of about 10 percent at that price, the Bermuda-based manager of $20 billion in assets said in a...

Re: Industrial Label Printers
Yes, I am getting the same feeling about this low margin business. I am hoping if it help gain access to a new account, it could open the doors to quoting on the customers copiers. Also, it could be useful as a "Wrap Around" sales tactic against National copier Vendors. By this, I mean it is probably difficult for Xerox or Ikon to bundle them into their quotes. I can easily add the additional cost of one into a copier quote and give it away as "free". As the labels themselves can be bought...

You can also get them in the "non-VP" version which slows down for heavy stock. Now you just need answers for Xerox and KM.

I've been dealing them for close to nine years now, and they do offer great support, sales and service. MBM is still the best bet for an all in one application. Jim Stocker
