Re: Imaging Channel, Let's Become the Innovation Channel!!
Ray Good stuff, however when discussing imaging (which is a wide portfolio of devices), everyone seems to forget about the huge growth of niche imaging devices. Those devices include wide format, grand wide format, label presses, and envelope presses. While in Las Vegas in the spring of this year, I was able to attend the ISA Sign Expo. I've been to a lot of events in the past year and the ISA was the largest event I every attended. Two hundred thousand square feet of convention space with...

Re: Who Would be a Viable Buyer for Toshiba Tec?
Makes me wonder what may happen. From my talks with muratec, of course I'm not in a high position of being in the know, it sounds like the label presses will become their go to product and eventually the mfp's will be less important to them. It would be interesting to me if Samsung sold to HP for a billion (I'm not sure why HP thought they were getting a steal by paying a billion for the copier division) and then Samsung turns around and says "thanks for the billion dollars, now we are going...

Color Label Press University "Glossary of Terms" Part Nine, Course One
Yes, Since Summer is winding down, I thought I'd get back in the groove with the glossary of terms for Color Label Presses. It was a few months ago when I went cold calling in South Jersey. I was on the lookout for copiers but also wanted to keep my eyes open for companies that could benefit from a label press or a corrugated press. If you're not familiar with a corrugated press that device will allow a user print graphics for use on card board boxes. I was able to find three companies that...

In addition I also scoped multiple rolls of labels in McDonalds and Dunkin Doughnuts (or Dunkin as they have re-branded). See and ye shall find color labels...

Especially if they want to stay in the "break and fix" model for servicing and selling devices that print. One of those opportunities is color label printing. The list of the types of color labels is enormous. Bumper stickers, political stickers, custom groceries, branding, safety, food labels, CBD, beer & wine, cannabis, the list goes on and on. Re: Leapfrog Managed Services from Muratec
Focusing on gaining more market-share in the copier industry is a fool's game, unless you're the manufacturer. Dealers that hope to be around & profitable in the future have to find alternative revenue streams, because the fact of the matter is that not everyone needs a $15,000 A3 MFP when in many cases a $1,000 A4 MFP will do. For the dealer community, it has to be about capturing profitable recurring revenue streams, whether that be through SaaS solutions, MPS, Managed Services, BPO,...
