John, The PrintCopy Tool compares pretty favorably to Plotworks. I attached two documents to this post. The Product Support Guide lists differences between the two products. The PowerPoint has screen shots of all the settings in PrintCopy Tool. I hope this helps.

The whore'ing of the machines is getting worse and worse. Eventually the stupid Japanese presidents of the brands are going to be sitting around in a room somewhere trying to figure out why this industry went to sh*t and what do they do to fix it. This win the business at any cost to keep the factory running has to stop at some point....I would think.

Disclosure, disclosure, disclosure is the name of the game. I've not run into any step leases (yet) but know they are out there. I make it a policy to go over the T&C's of the simpliest lease agreement with the customer so that they understand full well. Can't tell you how many customers who were sold by former reps had now idea what the terms of their lease. To some it was a big surprise. Honesty and plain language is the best policy.

Tsunami To Crimp Toner Supplies? Posted by Lamont Wood Mar 28, 2011 06:30 PM In the short term, yes, but in the long term things will probably sort themselves out, predicts economist's blog. Amidst all the other bad news out of Japan after the recent earthquake and tsunami, now it appears that toner may get scarce, at least for a while. \t A Forbes blog notes that Barclays Capital is predicting that Canon and Fujitsu Xerox may soon face shortages of toner material due to the disaster.

The WORST I ever hear about was a low life Salesman that would sell a 6/60 lease. They would sell a customer a lease saying that it was a six month trial and he would write a 6 in the space for months, then after the customer signed the document, he would add a "0" after the "6" and turn it in as a "60" month lease, no trial. As long as the customer didn't want t return it the sales puke got away with it, but he eventually got caught, and had to relocate his shell game. Gives Copier Sales...

When Ed Schmid was running eCopy they had the best pre & post sales support in the industry. You could call an 800 # while onsite and get someone to answer the phone who actually knew the product better than you did. Those were the days when eCopy was a Canon only product. But Canon did not buy a controlling interest in eCopy so when their contract ran out, eCopy opened up to all copier manufacturers, and their support became poor, the rapid expansion overwhelmed them. The best bet if you can't delete it from windows is to do an F8 boot in to DOS and delete it that way, or you might try an F8 boot in to Safe Mode and try the same thing. Graham ps.... Here's my thinking and I should have elaborated a little more and should have been more detailed. 1000 pages per month @ .05 profit per page = $50, minus cost of giving away 500 @ .05 = $25, net profit (based on .10) is $25 per month, per machine. Yeah, I goofed! However, I also though of this. With monthly billing or quarterly billing to add a monthly service charge of $25 (for processing paperwork, meter reads etc,), if this can be done you are back up to $50 per unit. Thanks for the help. We got the sale. 240W + Encad T-200+. The client needs B/W production more than they need color production so our solution was somewhat ahead of HPs solution from the beginning. Moreover, the speed and functional superiority of our equipment outdueled HP this time. Pricing: We were about the same. Maintenance Costs: About the same.
