Re: UPDATE 3-Canon buys Dutch Oce for $1.1 bln, fights Ricoh
Tokyoamsterdam: Japan's Canon plans to buy Dutch copier and printer maker Oce for 730 million euros ($1.09 billion) as it tries to return to growth after the global downturn and fight rival Ricoh. Copier and digital camera maker Canon and Oce said in a joint statement on Monday that Canon intends to offer 8.60 euros per share, or 730 million euros, for Oce's outstanding shares. Canon's offer follows little over a year after Japan's Ricoh, the world''s largest copier maker, bought US office...

Re: UPDATE 3-Canon buys Dutch Oce for $1.1 bln, fights Ricoh
Found this on the web today:: By Pavel Alpeyev Nov. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Orbis Funds, the asset manager that opposed takeover offers by Warren Buffett and Citigroup Inc., rejected Canon Inc.’s 730 million euro ($1.1 billion) bid to buy unprofitable Dutch printer maker Oce NV as too low. Canon’s 8.60 euros-a-share offer “significantly undervalues” Oce’s assets, and Orbis doesn’t want to sell its stake of about 10 percent at that price, the Bermuda-based manager of $20 billion in assets said in a...

Re: CBS NEWS REPORT ON COPIER SECURITY
Well.... not really. I do agree there is a "concern" about your info left on the copier. However, the vast majority of copiers will have little or nothing of value and it'd take me a significant amount of time to determine if the copier had anything worth taking. Give that I'd have to pay at LEAST $300 (as in the CBS story) for just the CHANCE to find out if there may be some shred of info there, I think it's very doubtful any identity thief would pursue this. Even if they did, it would...

Re: 3850 & Camera Ready Art
From: JasonR Sent: 10/11/2002 7:32 AM Remember that even Ricoh is saying that the 3850 is BUSINESS color, as such there is no way this machine can be used for "real" proofing. A lot of people throw around the word proofing when they mean "prints we can do before we show this to the customer" or "prints shown to the customer with an understanding this isn't a "press proof". I'm glad to hear the 3850 output looks good, and for "camera ready art" while it isn't the machine I would pick, I'm...

The vide o is a little lengthy but shows that the Ricoh "Request a Quote" is not working. Once it is working does that means those leads go to the Direct Sales Channel? If so, why is there not a "Request A Quote" for Dealers? If the answer is "well, we share then and dole them out evenly to dealers and direct". Then the next question is why are their...

This automatically shrinks the customers' intelligence and ability to catch on. It is down to your own ability to make the customer understand and therefore if you feel the customer is failing to do so, use comments such as "did I explain that clearly" and so on. The question I asked the most is where they were from, after getting a response I would then ask if they have a plotter or ask if they've ever seen a white board before.
