Re: Top 9 Blunders that B2B Sales Reps Make

Blunder #5: They give a generic sales pitch. What they do: They natter on and on about their company, its offerings, and its strategy. Why they do it: Usually they’ve been handed a “standard” presentation created by marketing people who have no idea how to sell. What happens: They never really find what the prospect wants and needs, so the pitch is just a “spray and pray”. Your Action Plan: To avoid this blunder, get “centered” before your next sales call. During your conversation with the...

Art stated: "Geesh, so where does that leave the likes of KonicaMinolta, Toshiba, Kyocera and Sharp?" This specific Ricoh Press Release is a direct response to Konica Minolta acquiring All Covered, Inc. If you read carefully, there is no real newsworthy 'event' or 'announcement' in the Press Release, which is a statement in itself. The Press Release announces an 'intent' rather than an 'action' that has been taken. Sources tell me that this 'dog-and-pony' show was dressed up at an event held...

I thought before the age of the "cost per page" agreements that all systems double clicked for 11x17. I had heard many years ago a that Canon was the first to introduce a system that single clicked for 11x17 and had also heard that the single click was not the intent and it was a mistake. Anyone else hear that? Also with testing on some of my 11x17 laser printers, they all single click for 11x17.

Re: Wells Fargo Lease reduces Monthly Lease Cost!

Yes, this is what happens with WF when the lease renews for 1 year. I forgot the percent, I think it was 75-80% of the original lease. Read the WF lease and it will tell you the percent. I had a customer that was paying $800 per month with WF. Missed the letter of intent by 1 day the lease renewed for 1 year. The IT and Director was fed up with WF for many reasons. I explained that it was their fault the letter was not sent in. and they rolled 12 x 1 yr new WF renewal into my lease payment.

From what I learned at the BTA East Grand Slam event in Rye Brook, NY on 10/3/12, Ricoh will not adopt this strategy in the U.S. However, they are preparing the RBS locations to pursue Managed IT Services in certain markets. They have no intent to offer any type of offer to Ricoh Dealers, like XEROX has with ACS and Konica Minolta has with All Covered.

BTA says that they have yet to hear of a single case going to court. If that's true, it is nothing but a fishing expedition with no intent to ever follow-through with a lawsuit. That having been said, the last thing that any salesrep should do is to advise a customer to disregard. If there ever is litigation, you have just needlessly inserted yourself into the equation.

I just looked it up: Predatory pricing (also known as destroyer pricing) is the practice of a firm selling a product at very low price with the intent of driving competitors out of the market, or create a barrier to entry into the market for potential new competitors. If the other firms cannot sustain equal or lower prices without losing money, they go out of business. The predatory pricer then has fewer competitors or even a monopoly, allowing it to raise prices above what the market would...

ComDoc was then prime for purchase by Global and Ricoh loses probably close to $50M in revenue. I would think Ricoh must now focus even more attention on the IKON acquisition to make it somewhat...

If a letter is needed make sure it is sent in certified to protect the customer. Leasing companies like to play games after they get these letters. Regardless of the compensation plan currently in place, the high gas prices probably negate the original intent of the company.
