Re: Email from Canon P4P'er "Ricoh Direct Pricing"

Hey, I agree, but when you see that type of pricing without competition, what is everyone to think??? I've seen new wide format fully loaded at 8K, and MP C5000's that were reselling at 2% above dmap 6. If I may be so bold, I truly believe that the head honchos have no clue what's going on in the street, plus even if they did they have no way of stopping it. They need the boxes placed in order to keep the factories running, more boxes placed equals more supply clicks. They just don't care,...

FYI, Ricoh is about to install the first ever, 100% eco-powered billboard on Times Square New York...all power will come from solar and wind panals incorporated in the sign. If the power ever fails at Times Square, the Ricoh billboard will be the only thing lit.

"Writing on the Wall" It's MY belief that there will only be four players left in the office equipment industry in the next 5 years. I also believe the times have changed and the next gen of office workers will print less, copy less and be more comfortable with cloud storage, email, cloud DMS and anything that will produce less paper. I believe the manufacturers that make the move to Managed Services (also controlling the network) will be the players that will survive. As someone told me...

One thing to note - Sharp’s Information Equipment group, which includes MFPs, is one of its only consistently profitable divisions. Not forever - but at least for now. One other thing to note is for Sharp (very proud Japanese company) to take an investment from a competing Taiwanese company means this was a bold move. They even took time at the Sharp dealer meeting to explain it (not sure if the dealers gave a sh*t) but that is a big deal. Sharp spent a fortune on its new 10G LCD facility,...
