Top three points I make when against Kyocera. #1. Take them color samples from your device and any Kyocera because the color output is sub par on all units. If you don’t have access to one look in your crm for an account you co-exist with Kyocera in. Or the next time you have a knock out make some samples and keep them in a binder. If color quality is important to the customer it will be a win. Another point is showing them you get what you pay for, meaning 3 tier color is what they have...

Yes I have sold a couple of these. For the price these are fantastic. My service manager is impressed which is hard to do. Dual side scanning is a definite selling point. The cost per page is going to be higher of course. I would say in the .015 black and white and .11 color to be safe (depending on your market of course). Not as good as say the 6535 per say but the machine is less than half the cost. If the run more than a couple thousand a month I would move them up to the 6535cidn. Let me...

I'm with Art. I think the A4 systems are in the market to stay and soon everyone will have them. Samsung will also have A3 systems within the next 18 months to be able to offer them with the A4's on bids and tenders. We shouldn't forget old HP when we have this discussion...they still collect more clicks in NA than any other manufacturer and they are seriously getting into the managed print business. Well.... not really. I do agree there is a "concern" about your info left on the copier. However, the vast majority of copiers will have little or nothing of value and it'd take me a significant amount of time to determine if the copier had anything worth taking. Give that I'd have to pay at LEAST $300 (as in the CBS story) for just the CHANCE to find out if there may be some shred of info there, I think it's very doubtful any identity thief would pursue this. These are all very interesting comments. Not sure if anyone has seen the videos and new interface on the color systems. Watch those videos on youtube and see yes that is a cool interface but is it really practical? From talking with others this is a very confusing non-friendly user interface compared to the previous MX color series. I think this is going to hurt this color series in the long run. The real challenge comes when there are MX units in an account then add this Aries series. Or...

I too have customers that price compare with web pricing. I may adjust my pricing slightly but won't match it. Web commerce has very little customer service and is ONLY price driven. I think by now just about everyone has experience in an ecommerce sale that resulted in an unhappy experience. Try to bring out that pain in your customer...."hmmm wonder if the ecompany you are about to do busness with will be around in 12 months when companies like webvan are going out of business."

In this situation, do not match the price of the web site. As mentioned, create pain in the customers mind as to the reason they should pay more to get the service your company provides. Ask the prospect what they will do when the equipment they purchase from the web breaks? You know it will happen but nobody knows when. The service your company offers is worth the difference in price. Scott

I saw this system demo'd @ Ricoh several years ago. Its development name is Ruby. As you can see from the picture, it is the same design style as the JP5000/5450, thus an older unit, not new. It also only supports UC6 and CPIF26, because it does not have the updated main board to support the Type 80. The product was deemed not suitable for the US market due to the fact that is doesn't have a large capacity exit tray to match the LCT, and the sorter limits you to run lengths of 40 per...

Don’t try to sell the Operator: be polite yet respectfully persistent while finding who the right person to speak with is. Art, I work in a Ricoh Direct (Lanier legacy) office located in an area where there are three local RFG competitors in our market. We have explicit instructions to disengage (turn around and walk out) if it's an IKON account or one belonging to the two other RFG dealers. Except for IKON, the dealers can compete against our MIFs and do so with no qualms. They kill us on price, too, which seems to be a different situation than is occurring in other parts of the country. As an example, a...

check condition of area you are getting jams. is the paper laying flat or is it crumbled, if it is crumbled you have an obstruction. if not turn off your jam detection to see if it is a sensor problem. if not that be sure the dials in the draw match paper size and direction. if all that is in order you should not be jamming.
