Ricoh makes the SP C842DN and it's a beast. Works day in day out with little service intervention. Here's the link https://www.ricoh-usa.com/en/p...r-printer/_/R-408106 Sharp or Brother does not offer a stand alone 11x17 printer?

It has to be laser and heavy duty like that Ricoh you’re talking about. Brother has inkjet and Sharp has small stuff. They are expanding the department so volumes will go up. So it has to be heavy duty

Re: MPS and Linux HELP!

So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

They actually did away with offering spf models and the fax option just gets added to the base model, which includes s/p. GIntel's and mmelrod's comments regarding the changes are pretty much the case. Pricing is pretty much the same as the prior models configured as sp models. Yes, the same will hold true for the 40/50 series, not sure how soon to launch though. Attached is the SIG that details all 4 units.

Re: Ricoh Canada Inc. and IKON Office Solutions Inc. Officially Amalgamate as Ricoh Canad

SalesServiceGuy ·
There will be a lot of P-offed Ricoh dealers in Canada that will begin to search for alternate copier suppliers. I have one that switched a few months ago. They stated that as an independent dealer, Ricoh Canada treated them poorly, like a branch office. Ricoh Canada has grown so big with rules ands procedures it is hard to get anything done quickly or easily.

Yes and thats not much. Pays for maybe a Production SE, Lease admin or sales coordinator and part of a Sales Manager. Art it depends on how many reps whats the comp plan etc.. Do any reps voluntarily give back salaries when they sell little or nothing one or two months out of the year? I think not, the pad also covers these inevitable down months. If you want to be pure about it. Compare a straight commission position with actual dealer cost. I did it once and made the most money I ever...

Well..... A) It depends on what they are charing for the overages, not making $25 in profit by getting 1,000 additional color clicks per month could represent a profit of $50 per month for every thousand pages times this by 10 new colors units per month, we then have $500 every month, second month is $1,000, third month is $1,500, fourth month is $2,000, by the end of the 12th month with selling 10 units per month and each one doing only 1,500 color pages a month would represent a profit of...

I'm not 100% on this, but I don't think you can add a word document to the LAN fax cover sheet. We tried this and ended up going through the Advanced Fax Features Manual to figure it out. All cover sheet data is stored as an fcp extension. I found a page in the manual (p # 118) with some explanations - apparently you can do some editing, but I think it is limited.

Hmmmm, maybe Xerox feels a threat from the Edgeline technology of H-P and feels in order to continue to compete it needs a solid entry into that part of the merket. Could H-P be looking at someone to help solidify their position in the Segement 1-2 and build a position in segments 3, 4 and 5? Someone like IKON? H-P will have invested $1.5 BILLION in the Edgeline technology so what's a few more BILLION BUCK to ensure its success? Boy, would Canon go CRAZY then.

This is a great article! One point that I disagree on is that HP will be entering the SMB market with this acquisition. What's the point? Dealers own the SMB market, and most dealers will sell whatever their customers already have. Where HP has the advantage is going into their national and global accounts where they dominate with MPS contracts on A4 devices. Finally, they can go back to the banks/governments/etc and kick out the Canon/Ricoh/Xerox A3 devices that are in there. And because HP...
