Re: In Search of the Office Imaging Industry’s Top Sales People

I just do not understand why this is necessary. Unless of course you and Art are on some sort of a reward, working for or with the US Inland Revenue people ? We all know who we are, that are any good at selling !!! I do not see any real benefit other than those with Narcissistic tendencies.

In Search of the Office Imaging Industry’s Top Sales People

Isn’t it about time that the industry’s best sales reps were recognized in the press? Sure these folks reap financial rewards for a job well done, but how much of that recognition actually extends beyond their workplace? That time has...

The Pasture of least resistance

Ray Stasieczko (Guest) ·
I always find it refreshing to run from the Status Quo. The leader who if wore a t-shirt describing their persona truthfully would read this “Everything I hear which makes me do something different I have an excuse or reason why it won’t work.” And on the t-shirts back it would read this. “Really I am the reason it won’t work” We all know these people they find themselves comfortable and with this comfort they develop their protection zone. This protection zone keeps people that will...

9 Types of People Who Never Succeed at Sales

Art Post ·
Almost anyone can get an entry-level sales job. There are so many sales positions in the world that most people can at least get their foot in the door somewhere. But not everyone has what it takes to not only keep the job, but to move up into higher-end sales and make it a career. In fact, there are certain types of people who will never succeed in sales because of certain characteristics that are incompatible with the profession. Surprisingly, being an introvert really has nothing to do...

It's 5PM Do You Know Where Your Best Sales People Are?

Art Post ·
I'm with you, in recent years it's been tougher and tougher to get through to DM's (decision makers) to schedule that first appointment. In some cases it's taken me a hundred plus calls and many years of trying to get the DM on the phone. The good thing about the 100 plus calls is that by the time I do get the DM on the phone they definitely know what I'm calling about. Gatekeepers are better than ever, and the thought of potential phone scams keep them vigilant in their quest to not let you...

That is so true. I think back at all the DM’s I’ve met in their office after 5. One I can think of in particular was a church who was a Toshiba direct customer. I was leaving a chamber event (about an hour from home) and saw lights on. I stopped in and the office manager happened to be there. We talked for a few minutes and hit it off. She asked me why I was still out prospecting in the evening etc. They still had about a year left on their lease and as we got closer to term and I had...

Great post Art! I’ve got a team of young reps (23-27) and preach this to them on the regular. I’m hoping the same words but from an industry vet like yourself sink in. Thanks and hopefully one day before you hang up your fuser belt we can grab a cup of coffee and shake hands! Michael We’re celebrating our 50th anniversary in a new location! Sales People Need to Embellish Their Email Signatures

I for one understand that cold calling (phone) for appointments is not an easy task. Phone Cold Calling A recent survey from Spotio released some eye opening facts about sales calls stats. Only 2% of cold calls result in an appointment (Leap Job) It takes an average of 18 calls to actually connect with a buyer On average a rep can make 12 calls per hour this includes re-call research (linkedin, CRM), ring time, talk time, voice mails, and post-call (always liked the word post) CRM updates.
