Re: The End Of The Day With Ray! Don’t Screw Up Your Defining Moment
I've got shut down customers asking how we can help them because they can't operate. It sucks for us but it sucks way more for them. I have "suspended" an MA for one because they asked" no cost no expense". I was lucky enough to get my PPP loan in on day one, approved and closed. I live to fight another day but I don't think things will change all that much. Americans are not going to change everything because of Covid 19, I may be wrong (wouldn't be the first time) but this is a major...

The revenue model can not possibly be profitable for 80% of your customers. Ridiculously low is exactly that, ridiculous and unsustainable. $500 worth of technical support will be used up mighty...

Tokyoamsterdam: Japan's Canon plans to buy Dutch copier and printer maker Oce for 730 million euros ($1.09 billion) as it tries to return to growth after the global downturn and fight rival Ricoh. Copier and digital camera maker Canon and Oce said in a joint statement on Monday that Canon intends to offer 8.60 euros per share, or 730 million euros, for Oce's outstanding shares. Canon's offer follows little over a year after Japan's Ricoh, the world''s largest copier maker, bought US office...

I'm fine with sales reps who choose to take on the role of consultant in this area but liable??? I am not seeing that at all. Someone needs to help me understand how a dealer is liable if no promises to wipe the HDD are made. That's like accusing the Tooth Fairy of teaching kids it's OK to sell body parts for money...it just seems like too big of a stretch to me. I see manufacturers being held liable long before a dealer would be brought into the fight but even that is a stretch.

Re: JOINT STATEMENT BY SHARP ELECTRONICS CORPORATION AND EDWARD MCLAUGHLIN
I agree with almost all of everyone's statements. The truth is its just going to get harder for each of the second tier guys to grow and succeed and considering that Sharp, Kyocera, and Toshiba all have plenty of options outside of printing it would not be shocking to hear if some of them left or sold-out in the next five years. However, the feeling I get is that each of them still has some fight left and although they all face some headwinds none are actively working on their exit strategy.

Vince is right on with this. Non-competes are enforcable, but have to be reasonable in the scope that they cover. However, it costs money to fight them. You should ask the employer to release you from your non compete. That would be the best and least expensive way to go about it.

As long as we keep going with whoever has "The low rate of the Month", leasing companies will continue to come up with what I call "alternative forms of revenue." As long as lease companies feel that we don't care about anything but low rates, they will continue to lower their rate with the intent of getting their profits back in new ways. How many of you know whether your lease company charges "rental" for days between the day a copier is delivered and the day the lease commences. Even...

Close, it's an example of an ACCUSATION of illegal dumping, and the Trade Commission is going to respond in a popular way. Price fell by 50% during that time, which economists refer to as "economies of scale". US producers that cut their prices to remain competitive complain that the new...
