Re: Target GP Margins

txeagle24 ·
I heard it through the grapevine a while back that RBS (at least in DFW) is no longer sending field reps out unless opportunities are above a certain value, meaning they are handling the sales process via telephone and email from start to finish. I see this as being the way things will be done in the future. From a business perspective, it makes sense if it allows dealers/direct to employ fewer sales people while generating close to the same revenue. If there is no value in a transaction...

Yeah, most printers have a setting in their menus where you can tell it to always print 2 copies of anything they receive. It'll pull them both from the same tray though and probably wouldn't finish them.

You have a suggestion to replace Work-around? When there is currently no solution to a problem, a work-around is put in place which lets you finish the job in an alternate way with the same results. Usually it will require additional steps and will only be in place until a full solution to the problem can be implemented. Whew! I'd rather say work-around

Re: Q. How does your company handle networking charges?

EByers ·
With our company, we charge just over $100 an hour for IT time. Do we charge it? Sometimes - depends. In the scenario where they need new drivers, as the Account Manager and free training resource, I will usually walk them through an upgrade - showing them where to get the driver and how to upgrade a computer. Then let them finish the rest. I usually preface my responses to their requests by stating that we do charge $x and hour, but I can help teach them how to do it and avoid the charges.

Looking in the Service Management Guide, the only types of media not supported are: Coated paper, Ink-Jet paper and envelopes. As Vellum designates the type of surface of the media, instead of smooth, I would say yes, it will. I've certainly not had any problems with running vellum finished media through the 3800C. Just a note concerning transparencies to finish off, use Folex X356 or X355. Hope that helps. Cheers, Jim.

Commercial Press Shops (ones that have union employees) have a tremendous overhead cost when it comes to making a plate for the press. You have to find out what type of plates they are making, whether paper, metel, or poly. The Metal has the highest cost and the paper plate being the least expensive and then the poly in between. I got this today... Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products? Shouldn't we return the favor? Can't we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit? An appealing remedy might be to boycott their GAS.
