Hi Everyone, Thanks for your posts. Every year or two we see new, low cost competitors that come out of the woodwork for a little while. We are selling against these guys the same as you fight your low cost competitors. There are a few obvious detriments that seem to have stood the test of time. The revenue model can not possibly be profitable for 80% of your customers. Ridiculously low is exactly that, ridiculous and unsustainable. $500 worth of technical support will be used up mighty...

Something you wrote sounds strangely familiar, but I can only give you a lead to follow up on. A year or so ago, I sat in on a webinar conducted by John Kiefer and Jon Standaert, Ricoh digital support representatives and training experts extraordinaire. I could swear that they demonstrated a toolbar that would create the hot folder with automatic print functionality you want. Yes, we sell PlanetPress too. I prefer to place that in more high-volume, transactional situations or where more robust output (fax/e-mail/archive) is required. PrintShop Mail in my opinion is the better choice for promotional marketing; I find it more nimble than PlanetPress's design tool. Now that Objectif Lune owns both, they are doing a little bit of positioning and differentiation. We did a HP webinar last week on the transition and it seems to me that HP doesn't have a clue how BTA copier dealers operate. I think they think BTA dealers are going to sell HP branded service packs and then chase reimbursements for service calls and parts from HP. If that is the model they plan on having us dealers use they will fall flat on their faces.

WE are currently an OMD \ MWA house and have looked SERIOUSLY at moving to their SAP offering but at the time we looked at it they had no one who had yet made the transition, So how about now? Vince, I know Jeff Elkin with Advanced in Baltimore made the switch to SAP but I do not recall what modules etc they are using.
