New Ricoh MP501SPF & MP601SPF's

Art Post ·
The MP501SPF and MP601SPF are new A4 devices that may launch in July. They were originally planned for June release but seems they have now been moved to July. I stumbled across these new products with the drivers already available on support.ricoh The 501 may be a replacement for the SP5200S and the 601 maybe a replacement for the SP5210SF/SR. Don't have much more than this, thus soon, we'll have a 52ppm & 62ppm A4, where is the 70ppm A4? Seems these two devices will have all the...

Did you figure out if these are replacements to the SP 5200 series and.or get any info on when they are launching? Looks like they are already in the Nevada/WSCA contract - http://purchasing.nv.gov/uploa...Ricoh-D-04-29-16.xls

yeah, 501 replaces the 45ppm & the 601 replaces the 52ppm A4, can't remember those models numbers right now. From prelim pics, seems the book is out if the 60ppm A4 device is actually a Ricoh OEM. Not sure, but the DF looks completely different from any other Ricoh DF

The problem with the 5200 series was always the cost per page for the cartridges. We sold very few of them for that reason alone. That machine would have been a real winner if the consumables had let the dealer put it under a service plan at a reasonable CPP. Perfect machine for medical but just too expensive for the cartridge.

Kyocera machine with Ricoh smart ops panel on it. A little disappointed to figure that out as soon as we unboxed the first unit. Happened to have the Kyocera printer version nearby and sure enough. I thought it was strange when I went through the product information guide last week and saw the toner waste bottle system. https://www.kyoceradocumentsol.../ecosysm3560idn.html

I've sold 5, and all 5 were delivered to two accounts in the last two weeks. Thus, I have no bad news to report. I find that this system can be excellent for auto dealerships and also a good box to steal accounts from others. I guess no news is good news.

Its downfall is that it doesn't have a one-bin stray on it the way the 5210sf did.

Plus no stapling!

Stapling isn't an issue for me but I've had two of my medical clients turn their nose up at the new model because of the lack of a 1-bin when their 5210sf machines in their fleet have it. For now I can still get the old model but not likely much longer.
