This Week in the Copier Industry 10 Years Ago, The First Week in August 2008

Art Post ·
A little of news this week is that the US Dollar is growing stronger vs the Japanese Yen. When this has happened in the past Japanese copier manufacturers have decreased pricing here in the States. When you couple this with the Chinese tariffs that may go into effect this week, it could mean that our industry may not see price increases. Japanese manufacturers might just bite the bullet on the increases in order to keep boxes moving out of the plants. BTW, the dude in the picture, had just a...

Why Product Knowledge Can Vault You to Success

Art Post ·
Would you agree or disagree with this statement? "You can have the best sales skills in the world, however, if you don't know your product you won't sell a damn thing". I'm a firm believer in the above, excellent product knowledge has allowed me to be extremely successful selling print devices. I feel bad for those sales peeps have the cheapest or lowest price along with zero product knowledge. The end result is guy and gals like me will eat them for lunch. LinkedIn is full of sales guru's...

Master Service Providers Face New Competition

Art Post ·
Most MSP technology resellers who are increasingly delivering IT Security Services, understand they will outsource the heavy lifting associated with IT Security, compliance, and education. I think the time has come that there will be a new competition which will challenge Master Service Providers, especially those with limited resources. Two thousand nineteen will be the year of new options and game-changing competitors. Some will re-invent themselves becoming the new competitor, and some...

The Conference

Ray Stasieczko (Guest) ·
Recently I attended a technology conference; the technology industry has never been short on having conferences. This particular conference was hosted by a manufacturer and it had roughly 800 attendees. The article I am writing today is not about the vendor or the conference host; I wanted to explore the meeting of the minds. It’s interesting to discover the way many define what they see, or what they miss, all very differently. All of us have attended conferences. The conferences within the...

Attention Sales World... A Lack Of Vision And Purpose Blurs The Road To Sales Greatness

Larry Levine ·
A vision guides you, what is your vision? Simply stated, vision is knowing you who are (your purpose), a clear picture of where you're going, and knowing the principles you need to guide you on your journey. When you apply vision to the future, you create a mental picture that can be used to direct your actions. Vision serves as your tour guide and can be used to provide a sense of purpose. A lack of vision prevents you from sales greatness. You must have a vision that inspires you to...

This Week in Copiers Fifteen Years Ago First Week of August 2008 Real Copier Sales I wanted to comment on an article that I picked up in the Channel Pro rag from April of 2012. Yeah, it's been a few months but I keep my reading material in various reading sites at the homestead. The article was titled "So I have to Sell too"?, and anything with a reference to sales will get my attention. The article was directed at an IT company that is 2-10 employees in size, and assumed that the...

This Week in the Copier Industry 5 Years Ago Second Week of January 2019 Real Copier Sales I think a lot of the small operations are getting squeezed out because they didn't keep up with technology and like said, there are a lot of acquisitions. I'd say its a really good time to be a mid-sized dealer in the 5-10 million dollar range. My experience has been that the giants created by these acquisitions don't provide the level of customer service that customers will get from a mid-sized...
