Commercial Press Shops (ones that have union employees) have a tremendous overhead cost when it comes to making a plate for the press. You have to find out what type of plates they are making, whether paper, metel, or poly. The Metal has the highest cost and the paper plate being the least expensive and then the poly in between. Art, I loved this column, especially the lead- in history of your start as a technician. That was me in 1978-79. I worked for a Canon subsidiary in Union NJ as a tech. Just moved here from Ohio. Re: New Ricoh MP C2011SP A3 Color MFP??
The MP C2011SP is a exclusive model for Taiwan/China/European Union. There is references to this model in MP C2003/ MPC2503 service/parts manual. The Ricoh Product code for that model is D237. The D176 (MPC2003) & D177 (MPC2503) are for US. With all that said....That doesn't mean Ricoh could change their mind and release that model in the US. But from the manual, it would look redundant to current gen equivalent models. I'll keep my eye open.
