We all know the duty cycles are bull. If one manufacture say they have a duty cycle is 100,000 on a 20 cpm machine, all the others have to follow suit. These numbers have been off since I been in this business. i.e. 28 years.

Re: New Samsung 11 x 17" Colour MFPs due Oct 01 USA

txeagle24 ·
Until A4 starts to really take over in the U.S., my guess is that the manufacturers will produce higher CPP A4 devices so they do not negatively impact the number of more expensive A3 devices that are placed into higher volume environments. Once one manufacturer lowers the CPP for A4 devices, everyone else will follow suit.

An office-company filed a lawsuit against Ohio State, saying the university wrongly awarded a potential $24 million printer and copier contract to a competitor. Modern Office Methods filed the lawsuit on Sept. 26 in the Court of Claims, requesting that OSU set aside its recently awarded contract with ComDoc, Inc. and rebid it. According to the documents, Modern Office Methods said a ComDoc employee met with an OSU employee, unknowingly to the other top-two competitors, Modern Office Methods...

Independent Dealers will never compete successfully with any Direct _BS branch on price. The _BS Branch has shown that they are willing to run their branches at a loss for years! We must sell at a profit, IMHO they should (Legally) have to also sell at a profit (Don't get me started on dumping). If you work for an independent dealer and you are trying to compete with a _BS Branch (that sells your product) on price then you are playing into their hands, and you are going broke. They can...

Re: RBS Continues to Dump Machines & Make Dealers Look Bad!

Professor X (Guest) ·
If you have a signed contract and RBS quotes a lower price, you have grounds for a law suit. It's considered unfair business practices and tortuos interference. Your dealerships laywer should send a letter to Ricoh's legal council seeking compensation. The last thing they want is a lawsuit.

It is the man (or woman) that "makes the suit." I know those custom fabrics and tailoring make the attention to detail and appearance seem professional, but the substance behind the outfit is even more critical when our customers rely on "trusted advisors."

I rarely ever even wear a tie anymore. Let the competition show up in a suit. Dress to suit the appointment. Perhaps it would be different in NYC but for up and down the street business a nice shirt and neatly pressed Khakies is all that's needed these days for 90% of your appointments.

Very true. As Fisher said, of course you will don the suit when the appointment warrants it, but It's silly to be sitting in a room with 10 people wearing business casual while you have on a suit and tie.

There is friction feed with air separation on all the current production machines. So they have rollers that actually feed the paper and there are fans that blow the paper apart to help prevent multifeeding and it also helps if the paper sticks together and won't pull out of the tray.
